... for appreciating the picture.

Shot at noon, hence the high contrast ! Your opinion please.
-
..Joan, for liking it.
"Typical" in the sense that you go there, they surround you and before you know, they have wrapped you with the local dress and you are ready for the pose! The good part is it costs Rs. 10, less than a quarter of a US dollar !

Taken in Simla, India. Typical tourist shot with local costume,
bright and colorful.
Thanks for viewing.

..thank you for liking the shot. This has quickly become one of my favourites, too and I have enjoyed taking the shot !
Jerry,
My post processing is limited to crop/level adjustment/sharpening and framing. I wish I knew PS more but actually I am a somewhat PS hater- and I think more and more photographs are now more of a computer creation than camera shot ! This takes away the joy of photography(at least for me!)
And yes, I am planning to print a 13 X 19 of this TIFF image with my Canon S 9000 to hang on my wall!
David,
Sorry, but I tried the lower resolution and it looked ugly ! This was the lowest acceptable. Trust me, the TIFF has much more in it!
Kaushik,
Thank you for your comment. I am happy that you liked it.BTW, I follow your recent abstract pictures with interest even though I am not sure whether I would call them "photographs" or not !
Thanks again, everybody.

...this was taken at one of the entrances of my workplace in Canton, Georgia. Luckily I had my gear in my car on that day as I planned to shoot some tulips after work at the front yard of the workplace. Almost missed it, sitting only about an inch above the ground !
As I said earlier, I had no clue though!
Thanks for liking it.

...thanks to both of you for liking the picture.
Janice, I see a ? Tiger Swallowtail but no moth! You must have removed the picture(like me)!
Biplab, are you in Kolkata ? If so, suggest me some places in WB and around Kolkata where I can shoot some landscape/macro/Orchids etc. Planning to be there in June for a few days. Please e-mail me at Dholai@hotmail.com if you have time. Thanks.

Andrey, thanks.
Tom, that is what I suspected(a moth) but my Zoology is so poor I did not want to take a chance.
-
What is it ? I have no clue. Stayed on that wall for ever, hardly
moving. Knowledgables... please enlighten. Thanks for viewing

... You are rolling, I see! Fantastic details on the wings in a black subject! The spider web on the right and the details on that dry plant... unbelievable!
