Short notice trip, headed to BigBend, leaving Thursday morning. Did
a search but didn't find much actual info. Any must see locations?
Will be there 3-4 days depending on the weather/rain.Sunset

If you go up to the "search" button and click on it and type in his name it will bring up a bunch of posts. Including mine where I told someone that his email is karl.kathy@verizon.net

Yes the Metz 45 can be used with its own handle mount with its own cord going to the PC connection.

There is a pin that goes thru the winder arm and shaft. Pull this pin out and slide the handle off. Then slide the speed-grip on an when it contacts the winder shaft, slowly work the thumb lever to turn the engagement part until male/female parts go together. Then slide the locking lever and depending on the vintage there is a safety latch on the end opposite the grip, verify it has engaged if it is pressent. Now you have a great handling camera.

did you get a nicad or lead acid battery? There is a lug that is changed inside the battery compartment depending on which battery you have. Not sure what happens if its not correct.

There are no 120 or 220 backs. All backs are the same. The insert is what makes it 120 or 220.

The turbo would give you quicker followup flashes especially at full power but I don't think it would give you more power(light output). Is the D40 the Hassy flash that looks like a Metz 45?

I'm with those that say your light is too close to the panel. You are only lighting the center section of it. Also try a little powder/makeup on the "face", it's surface is much more reflective than human skin.

You can simply put a ball cap or something over the front of the lens to end the exposure prior to changing the T lever back. The procedure you mention about removing the back, is if you have set MLU but then decide not to take the pic, this gets you back to normal without wasting an exposure.

I don't think all AEII finders have the button on the front. If they do then I cant find mine!

I look at those 2 cameras frequently, but the leaves seem to go from green to brown with little or no color ever being visible. Their great for checking on rain, fog and snow.

I think I remember seeing repair manuals on eBay for late model Bronica stuff. Don't remember the details.

I have a couple days off later this week and would like to head up to
the mountains. Have the leaves started turning yet? Maybe at higher
elevations? Thanks

Ellis, E6 doesn't go near big enough per customer service person.

I use a Metz 60 with a Sunpak 383 as a backup. It's(383) almost identical to the Vivitar 283 but has one extra setting if memory serves correctly.
For time exposues I thing you mean a remote release. Its what you push to release the shutter. In T mode you can do long exposes without draining your battery. I believe it uses a standard generic PC cord but Paramount may list a special end that works better.

My wife has decided she wants a 50X65 inch (approx) print from a
6X4.5 negative(Reala) to mount above the head of the bed as a custom
headboard like thing. Never done anything near this large. Looking
for reccommendations for lab in the Atlanta area and hints/tips. Do I
need to get it mounted? laminated? She wants me to build a frame? Any
help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can also boil water for a check at higher temp. But actual temp is not as important as being consistent

The insert is size specific, 120 or 220. The back is a back, you put what ever insert in it you want to use.
-
Just get a generic locking cable release. Press the release and engage the lock, the shutter will stay open until you release the lock. Much simpler and cheaper than a timer. You probably should move the slider on the lense to T so it's not running your battey down during the long exposures.
-
There's a 386 TTL module, but I just use the Auto mode on the Metz. It's PC cord plugs right into my ETRSi, should be same as SQ series.
-
Buy a 24 exposure and only take 12 shoots. The last time I saw 12 exp rolls it was only about 10 cents cheaper than a 24 exp roll.Definitely not worth a road trip around town looking for them.

I'll take the easy one. A flash puts out more light by being on longer, not by being brighter. So if you want less light then the flash is a shorter duration.
