  1. Short notice trip, headed to BigBend, leaving Thursday morning. Did

a search but didn't find much actual info. Any must see locations?

Will be there 3-4 days depending on the weather/rain.Sunset

locations? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

  2. There is a pin that goes thru the winder arm and shaft. Pull this pin out and slide the handle off. Then slide the speed-grip on an when it contacts the winder shaft, slowly work the thumb lever to turn the engagement part until male/female parts go together. Then slide the locking lever and depending on the vintage there is a safety latch on the end opposite the grip, verify it has engaged if it is pressent. Now you have a great handling camera.
  3. I use a Metz 60 with a Sunpak 383 as a backup. It's(383) almost identical to the Vivitar 283 but has one extra setting if memory serves correctly.

For time exposues I thing you mean a remote release. Its what you push to release the shutter. In T mode you can do long exposes without draining your battery. I believe it uses a standard generic PC cord but Paramount may list a special end that works better.

  4. My wife has decided she wants a 50X65 inch (approx) print from a

6X4.5 negative(Reala) to mount above the head of the bed as a custom

headboard like thing. Never done anything near this large. Looking

for reccommendations for lab in the Atlanta area and hints/tips. Do I

need to get it mounted? laminated? She wants me to build a frame? Any

help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  5. Just get a generic locking cable release. Press the release and engage the lock, the shutter will stay open until you release the lock. Much simpler and cheaper than a timer. You probably should move the slider on the lense to T so it's not running your battey down during the long exposures.
