Hi Pierre,

I've been away for a long time, but I am pleased to see your wild, weird and wonderful world is still here on PN.

This made me smile straight away!

This gentleman is a labourer in the Gulf.

For six days a week, he arrives at work, by bus, at 6am. He then works

a backbreaking day which lasts around 12 hours, sometimes in heat well

in excess of 40C. At the end of the day, he gets back on the bus and

heads to one of the massive labour camps where he is housed. He goes

home about once every two years. For all this, he is paid about $200 a

month.

I have been photographing him and his colleagues over the last couple of

weeks as they finish their working day. And they are Bollywood Stars,

every one of them. My time with them has, so far, been one of the most

rewarding photographic experiences of my life. They have played up to

the camera, laughed at me and themselves, and been unfailing polite.

It's an honour to take their pictures.

There was, unfortunately, no opportunity to recompose the photo with the guy walking into the picture.  I would have ended up falling into a rice paddy!
