tricky shot this one, with low light, boats moving in the water,
passing cars and me without a tripod! I rested the camera on a seat
for stability, lined it up as best I could and went for a ten second
exposure.

Thoughts welcome .... hopefully this photo recreates how steep and
inspiring the drive up this mountain (Ben Lommond) actually was.
-
Didn't have a tripod handy, but resting the camera on the embankment
and setting the timer for a long exposure seemed to do the trick
-
A landscape crop would work well on this photo.
-
Interesting choice of focus ... not sure if having the keys at the front of shot in focus would have worked better... nice photo though. 5/5

Bryant & May factory clocktower at sunset, as captured from the

Caught the sun at the perfect time of day in at the Exhibition Gardens
in Melbourne. I took several shots of this fountain from various
angles, but my favourite by far was this shot, taken from a low angle
directly in the shadow looking up at the sun.

Some nice bright colours.

Richard, thanks for the tips!
Unfortunately I only visited this part of the world for 2 weeks. I agree it would be nice to live in places like this.

Simple, yet very effective. Draws the eye. 6/6

Another B&W converted New-Zealand landscape ... I like using b&w to
contrast the different landscapes (snow,rock,mountain,grass,sky).
-
Thanks for the feedback. I find B&W conversions work really well on shots taken with a polarising filter to get those cool gray gradients in the sky.
-
For some reason, I find these pictures look more magical in B&W than
colour.

Whilst it is rare to get a clear look at Mt Cook's peak, I rather
liked the effect the clouds hanging around the peak give.
-
better light & shadows would make this a perfect shot, but I guess you can't wait around all day for that! 5/5

Whilst cruising out on Queen Charlot Sound in NZ, I was lucky enough
to see the replica of Captain Cook's Endeavour sail buy on it's final
sea voyage (it's now siting in dry-dock in Sydney as a museum piece).
Please view "large" picture when reviewing - the default small picture
size does not do the picture justice with the crop I've used.
