  2. @ Eric<br>

I was not able to see the video which you wrote it's link. Instead I managed to find the following link in the <a href="

showing how Kai try to imitate Natsumi to produce similar images that she produces in her blog.<br>

For sure it is a very difficult work. I tried to do it with my camera, tripod, and lots of jumping, and each time I hurt myself by falling down without capturing good images.<br>

  3. So, you call yourself, a Pro DSLR / knowledgeable Photographer, then try to answer the 10 final exam of Stanford

University (Spring 2011) review questions by writing <b>T</b> or <b>F</b> beside each question.<br><br>

    Part 1:<br>

    1. If the reflectance spectrum of an object is nonzero for some wavelengths that the illumination spectrum is nonzero, the

object will definitely reflect some light.<br>

    2. Magenta is on the locus of spectral colors because it is derived from a combination of two pure wavelengths.<br>

    3. If you illuminate an object with a monochromatic light source, then regardless of the original color of the object, it will

either appear to be the same chromaticity as the light source, or black.<br>

    4. There are some pure wavelengths that humans are responsive to but that are not in a rainbow.<br>

    5. In Maxwell's color matching experiment, matching a color with a negative value for one of the primaries means the color is

outside the gamut defined by those primaries.<br>

    6. Chromaticity diagrams factor out saturation and leave only hue and value.<br>

    7. It is a clear day. White balance temperature for the midday sun is roughly 5200K. If we want to take a picture in a shady

area where there is no direct sunlight, we should set the white balance temperature to something lower than 5200K.<br>

    8. Blue light contributes more than green light to luminance because blue light is a shorter wavelength, and thus has more

    energy.<br>

    9. When bouncing a floodlight off a uniform white reflector card to produce a fill light, if you move the card closer to your

subject, the subject will become more brightly illuminated.<br>

    10. JPEG's compression strategy is to compress the luminance information more than the chrominance because humans

are less sensitive to luminance information.<br>

Hope you answered all of them correctly. <br>

Of course this 10 questions were from first part. If you need to examin yourself more, then please answer the rest of

    questions <a href="http://graphics.stanford.edu/courses/cs178-11/CS178FinalExamReview2011.pdf">here</a>.<br>

    Good Luck<br>

Please write here, how many you got right!

  4. Apparently one of the main downsides to having a translucent mirror is that the light hitting the sensor passes through an

additional layer (the translucent mirror), which reduces the amount of light and the image quality.<br>

Ray Lemieux attempted to quantify how much the mirror affects the resulting image quality by removing the mirror on his

A55 and comparing the results. He confirmed that about 1/2 stop of light is lost, and estimates that 5% of the detail in each

shot is lost due to the mirror. <br>

  5. Apparently Nikon has decide to save few trees by no longer publishing user manuals in some of its digital cameras and not

include them in the boxes. As a result of this new decision, few Nikon customers are not going to be happy.<br>

To protect against Copyright Infringement, Nikon offers two versions of product manuals. A fully printable manual for

existing owners (which requires a valid, North American, Nikon camera serial number and registration to download) and a

non-printable version for others (no serial number required).<br>

  6. In this short video, Grover Sanschagrin from PhotoShelter talks to Kristina Sherk about her latest work with Chris Crumley.

    <br>

Kristina is a real multi-tasker young lady who is an image retoucher, photographer, photo assistant, and a production

manager. She tells us how to make you web image pop with five simple things!<br>

I should mention that Chris Crumley is an underwater photographer who use his $30K Hasselblad H4D-60 (60 megapixel)

medium format camera for that project.<br>

    Let's watch it <a href="http://vimeo.com/27232242">here</a>.

  7. What happens when you see a normal person acts as a omni present everywhere in our globe. <br>

The answer is in the hand of three young men who spent 44 days flying 38,000 miles on 18 flights to 11 different countries,

capturing moments of footage at each location with two cameras? <br>

To see more please click <a href="http://vimeo.com/27246366">here</a>.<br>

I should mention that these films were commissioned by <a href="

    Travel Australia</a>.<br>

  8. Here is another amazing example of the crazy visual effects found on today’s TV shows thanks to our new digital

    technologis and special effects.<br>

A very good example would be the scenes behind HBO’s John Adams series, “Game of Thrones“.<br>

    Please click <a href="http://www.petapixel.com/2010/08/24/a-glimpse-at-the-mind-boggling-special-effects-behind-hbos-

    john-adams/">here</a> to watch.<br>

I enjoyed each second of it and I am very sure you will enjoy.

  9. Nokia has made a new film, Gulp, which earned a Guinness record of the “World’s largest stop motion animation set”. <br>

It is story of a fisherman who gets swallowed by a larger predator. It was shot entirely with the Nokia N8 cell phone with 12-

megapixel camera with a "Carl Zeiss 4-element Tessar optics". The action was captured by three Nokia N8s suspended

from a crane, with each frame representing a single shot. The largest scene in Gulp occupied 11,000 square feet of

Pendine Beach in South Wales. It took five days to do the Gulp.<br>

You may view this lovely film <a href="http://vimeo.com/26877221">here</a>.

    <br>

  10. Phil Datz, a freelance photojournalist was recording the conclusion of a police chase from the opposite pavement last

Friday when he was confronted by a policeman who commanded him to “go away”. <br>

Although he politely obeyed while he was continuing filming the event and it's surroundings, he was arrested for “obstruction

    of governmental administration”. <br>

  11. Another day in a photography shop, I saw a package under the name of LensAlign MKII Focus calibration System by

    Michael Tapes.<br>

I wonder if any of you has used this tool?<br>

If so, please write me what is the purpose of this tool. <br>

What would be it's application for?<br>

    How does it work? <br>

Can you use it for Film camera as well DSLR? <br>

And last, how good is this tool.<br>

Does it worth to buy it or not.<br>

Is there any other similar system in the photography market?<br>

    Thanks for your contribution.<br>

  12. Usually when there is movement in a timelapse video, it is constrained to a small area because a dolly was used to change

the position of the camera between shots for small distances.<br>

Here T-RECS group came up with a special way to introduce large distance movements into timelapse shots.<br>

You may view their movies <a href="http://vimeo.com/26602158">here</a>, and you can find out more about their

    techniques in this <a href="http://vimeo.com/27033486">video</a>!

  13. <blockquote>We heard yesterday that David Fincher, who most recently received Best Director nominations for The

Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Social Network (and who is currently wrapping up The Girl With The Dragon

Tattoo), is set to produce a biopic about the amazing Depression-era photographer Dorothea Lange. Lange’s work put a

human face on the Depression and its effects, and has been extremely influential on documentary photography as a whole.

Her photographs are also said to have been a large impact on John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, which is no mean

feat. The as-yet untitled film will recount her life, including her early struggles with polio, and her profound work in the most

desperate of times. Needless to say, we’re pretty excited, and to celebrate we’ve collected some of the most affecting (to

our eyes) Lange prints for your perusal. Click through to see our favorites, and let us know if we’ve missed any of yours in

    the comments!</blockquote><br>
