@ Rainer T <br><br>
"The topic is likely more suited to fit in the "casual conversations" forum than in "digital darkroom". <br>
You might or might not be right with what you think in specific about those images ... I find it a bit strange you come
up with this question _today_, since all that happened two and a half years ago. (All timestamps are from march
2006). <br>
In general, digital data is easy to steal when exposed to the public on webpages. This is nothing new."
<br><br>
I <b>do</b> totally disagree with you in your first sentence of your comment. My thread is completely valid in the
section of "digital darkroom".<br>
I think every photographer should be vigilant in this era of digital photography. <br>
Also it doesn't matter if it happened 2 or few years back. The important matter is all photographers (old or new to this
digital era) should remember that uploading an image would be <u>always</u> in danger of being stolen by few
charlatan people who do not respect the ownership.

"Kambiz, <br>
You may be jumping to conclusions. I read your account of how you critiqued the photo by a Brazilian photographer
and then a few weeks later you found it in a stock photo site credited to an American photographer. That does NOT
NECESSARILY mean the latter used it without permission of the former. People make deals, and photographers are
no exception. <br>
You may be correct in your assumption that one photographer stole it from another, but because you have no proof
of that, it's just an assumption -- maybe a faulty one. <br>
Will"<br><br>
Tell the truth after my discovery, the site manager informed the owner of the original image, andpromptly, the
manager of the site closed the cheater's account forever.<br>
I guess we have to be vigilant about these kind of fake representations.<br><br>

Easy stealing during DIGITAL ERA<br><br>
During the film era, there was <u>not</u> that many cases about stealing images compare to our new era of
<i>digital
photography</i>. <br>
These days the crooked people under the good name of Pro-Photographer could steal any images thru internet very
easily. Then they could change them little bit and present them as their own hard work to few fools! <br><br>
<b>I DO have a proof.</b> <br><br>
<u>I managed to caught<i> a thief</i></u> during my daily critic/comment writing among images. [(K=37501) on
3/3/2006]
<br>
Then I managed the spot this. <br><br>
<a

<br><br>
Now examine those images for yourself and judge if I am right in <b>my reason</b>. <br><br>
Good luck.<br><br>

I have noticed that few people put their images into the 'Contribute Critiques' section.
I would like to know how can I add an image under my critics.
Thanks

@ Matt <br>
Thank you for your explanation. Now, I know how to score!

Please write me what are: <br>
Aesthetics, & Originality mean in an image.<br><br>
Thanks<br>

Would you please write me, how many critiques can I request for my images? Does it have a limited period? I
noticed that I could ask only 3 critiques for my images. Are there any factors change the number of requesting
critiques?
Thanks

Few hours ago, I upload an image in my Abstract section of my portfolio. Then I tried to find my image in the main
menu of Gallery; http://www.photo.net/gallery/ . Unfortunately I was NOT able to see it!
http://www.photo.net/photo/7495309
Then Few hourse later, I tried to see the above image in the Gallery==> Browse Gallery==>Past 24 hours, STILL it
was not there.
Would you please advice me what will happen if I upload any of my images in different section of my portfolio in this
site. Will they appear in the Gallery or stayed only in my portfolio.
At present my skill about navigation in this site is rusty, and I need your help in this matter.
Thanks

As an Iranian born photographer, I should mention that as long as you respect the culture of a country you would be safe no matter where about.
You are totally safe as long as you follow the regulation. For men you should not wear short pants. For ladies as long as she covers her head and wear a loose cloth cover her body would be alright.

My name is kombizz (kambiz) kashani. I was born and brought up in Iran, a
beautiful country full of history. I started taking photos at an early age of
my life with a Lubitel, a Russian twin lenses camera. Most of my photos in
those days were black and white. It was a very nice camera that my parents gave
me when I was 15 years old.
I always loved to see images. I remember that I would spend time in the library
for hours and hours looking at the different photos in Life Magazine, National
Geographic and other photographic journals and books. Also I always loved
nature, and the different patterns made in it. I remember because of my
Entomology studies, I would spend hours in the laboratory looking into
microscopes at those beautiful and perfect structures that God created in those
different tiny flowers, plants, tiny nematods, animals and insects. Then after
I finished university in Iran, I left to do on my M.Sc. in California, the
Golden State. There I was witness to even more of the beauties that nature held
in each different moments of time. I remember I was always walking and trying
to absorb all the scenes in my mind and memory as well as recording them on
film. I forgot to say that I received another precious gift from my parents.
That was a Canon camera with a fixed lense (G-III QL17). Then after I finished
my studies, I returned to Iran for work. I consider myself an artist
photographer.
At present I have a lovely Minolta Dynax 7, Mamiya 7II with few lenses. I still
love and adore nature and all aspects of it. As a result I love macro
photography, landscape, architecture (old and new), and many other categories
like artistic abstracts, travel, people, fashion, and photo journalism.
I have a vast numbers of printed photos, slides and thousands of negatives
which all are archived in many folders.
I love to share my observations through my photos with those people who love
and appreciate.
