Excellent, my friend, perfect everything.

Wow... that smoldering "wait-till-I-get-you-home" look. Yeow. Great shot, perfect everything. 7/7

Yes, this is a nice shot but it's a composite. It's a timed exposure of the ocean, and in the several seconds the shutter was open the moon would have moved, thus making it impossible to get that kind of detail. Again, very good shot, but please disclose all the details about it.

I am probably not the best one to critique this image, but I do feel it's way over the top manipulated. Way oversaturated and too much HDR. This would have worked a lot better as is, with possibly a split-density filter, but certainly did not need all this over-produced post. Sorry, but even though it's a beautiful scene, I don't like this rendition.

Anish,
I wish I could tell you I have a magic formula for that, but actually, you just fly by the seat of your pants and do everything by dead reckoning. I just guess at it from prior experience. 7 minutes is not that long; the light does not change that rapidly in that short amount of time.
This was shot at 200 ISO, 2.8 aperture, 7 minutes. The colors you see here were not visible to the naked eye. The lights in the mist on the valley floor are from auto headlights; the glow behind El Cap is the moon rising in the far east end of the valley, all of which was just gray light to the naked eye.

A Malian water-taxi owner poles his boat along the Niger River in Mali
in late afternoon. Please vote and offer critique! This was shot by
a friend of mine who does not believe this is a great shot; in my
opinion, of course.

Yosemite Valley at dusk; 7 minute exposure

I find it hard to believe you got anything but a 7/7 on this shot. Wow, GREAT originality, lighting, blah blah blah... NO negatives. Wow! And I thought I was good at Photoshop. I certainly have much to learn from you; may I hold your lens cap on your next session?

I can't decide if I like this extremely aggressive HDR or not. It's way off being natural, but then again, that's it's appeal, is the surreal feeling to it.

Absolutely killer! Wow, lot's of drama, excellent detail, pastel color, very very good!! 7/7

NOW we're cooking with gas... Great shot, excellent lighting, interesting pose, very good mood, atmosphere. Kind of blurred, which works for this shot, enough detail to draw in the viewer, but not too much... just right! The roan color and dark eyes of this horse lends itself to the shot. Ghostly, ephemeral, mysterious... very good!

The lighting is tremendous, and the background is also really good; lots of old weathered lumber for a nice atmosphere, but with all due respect the pose and expression is a bit too "snapshot" for me. I think there is a lot you could have done with this to go beyond what we are seeing here. Affection toward the horse? Horses head up a bit more? Again, the lighting is the strength of this shot, post is good too. Like the desaturated look. Composition is good...

Excellent, excellent result. Now, THIS is how to do HDR. Very very good! Looks very natural.
-
Compositionally, it's a great shot. But the HDR is way over done in my opinion. Do you know channel masking? Perfect candidate for it.
-
Technically; great. Editorially; boring, nothing, empty w/o some caption as to what we're looking at. As it stands, a picture of a girl with a scarf over her head. Big deal. It needs a context! PLEASE WRITE CAPTIONS!!!
-
Excellent shot. Very good with the HDR. Very dramatic
-
Please caption your images so we can have some point of reference as to what we are looking at.
Good shot technically, but what is the subject matter? Good color, composition...
-
This one doesn't do much for me. What are the two white things in the center? There's no central subject.
-
Great shot, but a bit heavy on the color adjustments. Saturation is a bit much. Otherwise, very good shot!
-
Wow, two thumbs up; WAY up! And yes, this has been done to death, but just like the shot of Yosemite Valley from Tunnel view, the talent is finding a creative way to shoot a common subject in an uncommon way.
GOOD work!!
