Travel along the Niger River in Mali

A Malian water-taxi owner poles his boat along the Niger River in Mali

in late afternoon. Please vote and offer critique! This was shot by

a friend of mine who does not believe this is a great shot; in my

opinion, of course.

It is a great shot because of the expresive silhuette of water taxi driver and of the

natural frame. If he crop the left it will be excellent .

I entirely agree, a visual delight. Have seen some other similar photos of the Niger (downstream of Timbuktu) - particularly the lights and colors during sunset / sunrise seem to be very special there, say, magical, and the entire landscape and people must be very fascinating.

very good exposure and composition of the image. The silhouette of the man is very dynamic end expresses alle the power and skill they need for doing their job. The item hanging down on the right above is not quite good to recognise, maybe better to delete it. Best regards.
