1.
I have bought the Commlite CM-ENF-E1 adapter last saturday with version 2 firmware, and updated to version 4. Firmware is on the commlite website available for this adapter.
Please check the youtube video on how to do the update, otherwise you might be puzzled, the video is very clear. Version 4 firmware with the adapter works very well, and many issues have been solved with the adapter.
After playing with it for some days i am very happy to be able to use many of the nikon lenses now on the Sony A7RM2.

  2.
After some investigation, it seems to be caused by a mixture of original and 3rd party batteries when the 3rd party battery is empty or almost empty ...... When both batteries are fully charged the problem does not ooccur anymore.

Today i have updated the firmware of the camera to 3.30 .... am curious to see in the coming days if the difference is major or minor.

  3.
Peter Gilbert, is your firmware version now 3.2 or 3.3 ? before 3.2 everything was working like a swiss watch ... now with 3.2 the problem is there. I will do a firmware upgrade to 3.30 tonight ...

  4.
additional info: I am using the original Sony VG-C2EM batterygrip with the camera A7RM2.

  5.
I purchased some 3rd party batteries for my Sony camera's around january 2016. These have worked fine and have been used many times.
Since the last firmware update i get messages on the camera display incorrect battery, and the camera stops working. This is applicable for both the A7R and the A7RM2.
Any other members here have experienced the same ?
I have at least 5 of these batteries, so i would be happy to know if there is a resolution.

Looking forward to your responses.

  8.
David, i also do have an F5, and i have removed the MF-28 and replaced with the original back.
I could check if the user display LCD has faded, although it has not been used for maybe 12 years.
The imprinting on the film is in my opinion not done with LCD. The MF-28 is powered by 2x CR2025 battery, the quality of the battery may also have influence on the visibility of the LCD display ...
I do not know if all MF-28 backs suffered from the described problem. Long exposure to strong sunlight may have had influence as well. Reading your project plan, i would do this with a digital camera, way more possibilities to archive theimages with appropriate information, for instance with Adobe lightroom, and add tags to the images.

  11.
if the CM-ENF-E(1) product is good quality, for sure i will purchase a commlite adapter.
It will enable me to use my beautiful Nikon glas on the ILCE-7RM2.
For the Sony camera there are not that many lenses yet available, for nikon i have some of their high-end lenses. Best of both worlds ....

  12.
Commlite is working on an adapter that will support autofocus, and diafragm control for nikon lenses on Sony A7 series camera's. Commlite has informed me that conform current planning this adapter will become available around mid March 2016.
For me this would be an awesome addtition to the kit i use.
I have many Nikon lenses and would be very happy to use this on my A7R camera.

More info for those who are interested :
http://www.commlite.com/en/product_show.php?id=205&img_sl_lm1=upimg/2015112012350794.jpg&title_lm=E-Mount%20Ring&title=CM-ENF-E%281%29

  13.
if i may suggest : Buy a Gitzo Mountaineer carbon tripod.
I have one myself with the same camera and lens you have, and it realy makes the difference.
I also own some Manfrotto's but the Gitzo is the best for maximum sharpness ......
My test for tripods is: Place your hane on the top, put some downforce with your hand and try to move your hand a very little ..... this will help you find out the stability provided by the tripod, and the differences can be huge

  14.
The recent Canon anouncement on the new 50MP camera's has made me very curious on the counter anouncement that could be expected from Nikon.

It should be a real beast and at the same time a wonderful instrument for the professional photographers !!!!
I hope the anouncement from Nikon will follow in short time.

    Happy New Year

Happy and Creative New Year for 2015 to all photographers at photo.net
  16.
Maybe is better to try to find a fellow photographer with the other 35mm 1.4, so we can do a test without spending so much money for a test ....

  17.
Gentlemen, although i highly appreciate all your responses, i maybe should add some words :
I would like to use live view to have the best sharpness on the area in the picture where I want it to be, not to use auto focus with a chance to have the focus maybe somewhere close to the area where i want to focus. I want to be in control using manual focus sometimes. But after having done this, what difference would i see in the images when using the above mentioned lenses, say on a print of 40x60 centimeters........... So camera on tripod, focus with live view, same settings for F-stop and shutter time and ISO. Why 1.4 ? I very much like the brightness in the viewfinder and the unsharpness in pictures can be very beautiful.
What difference should i be able to see ??? Is it bouqet, overal sharpness, or ???? I am tempted to buy the lens that i do not have to be able to do a very expensive experiment .... maybe someone knows a website with two pictures made with these lenses that can show difference.

  18.
Fellow photographers, i hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

During Christmas i was wondering long time if i use live view for focussing, would there be a visible difference between the 35mm 1.4 from nikon when compared with the allover praised Sigma Art 35mm 1.4 in the end image ???
I am very curious in what details the difference would be visible.
I would use the lens for niteriors and for landscapes ....
The target camera is nikon D800E, pictures are taken in RAW format.
Looking forward to your advises, and wishing you all a prosperous 2015.

  19. My current plan is to wait for a Nikon in the full frame 800 series with 4k video, if i have to wait 2 years i will wait, and use my current gear with lots of pleasure. Maybe it will be D850 or something like that, and 50MP would be appreciated as well. My current camera's are also 800 series, and the images from these camera's are very good. I do not know of anyvrumours that a Nikon with afore mentioned specs is currently in design or planning, we will see when it is there. Merry Christmas to all in advance.

  22. In the single photo's section on my workspace are some pictures made with the 20 1.8, shot with D800E. Easy to recognise the wide angle of the 20. Am very happy with this little gem.

  25.
I bought the 20mm 1.8 last Saturday, and did some shot with it in daylight on Sunday.
I am very impressed by its overal performance and particular in the corners. i had the Sigma 20mm 1.8 and my first impression is that the new Nikon is a league better.

Did not include pictures because these were just test shots, nothing artistic.
