This is a great mix of nature and man indirectly. I love how you capture the essence while maintaining the overall feel quality of the Utah desert.

Does the waterfall image work?

I started with a photograph I took in Rothenburg in January of 2001. Since it was winter none of the trees had leaves. In addition I felt that the light on the building was too harsh and the sky did not have enough umph. I guess I thought the photograph had potential but it needed more. I decided to give it a more of a art feel. To achieve the desired affect I first darkened the hue of the blue in the photograph. I then lowered the contrast so that the harshness of the sun on the building was toned down, but only slightly. Now here comes the fun part, I used a tool known as "Adust Local Equalization". I adjusted this to achieve the desired effect. Here is where I mention that I am not a photoshop user, I use Corel PhotoPaint!. It is not because I don't like Photoshop, nor is it because I am a Corel snob. This is because I have been using Corel since version 3 (they are now on version 11) and I am very comfortable with the controls and the interface. I do not know what the equilivant is in Photoshop, but I am sure there probably is one. I have referenced the original photograph below as a starting point. Please let me know if you find the equivilant for this tool if there is one.

Nicely executed very difficult shot.

I hate mispelling things and that one was a doozy. Thanks for the catch, and the comment too!

Overall a very nice colorful shot. I really think you have the yellow-blue polarizer down. I am going to go get one after looking at your various shots. Regarding this photograph, I think the shoreline up top is a bit distracting. If it were cropped a little lower I think that may tighten up the photograph.

Very nice photograph. It is framed very well. The negative space on the left may be a bit too much, but I don't think you can have this image without it. Sorry to hear about your images, had that happen to me with some ditigal photographs of my first and so far only trip to Europe. I saved the hard drive, however, and a year later was able to retrieve them with some new software.

The detail seems a tad dark to me on the left hand side. Perhaps a fill flash may have helped this situation.

I have to admit, I like the trees, but then again, I live in Nebraska..... I think the forground shadow may be a bit too dark and distracts me a little bit. The top of the photograph bothers me a bit, perhaps it is the blue sky and then the white cloud that seems to separate the sky. Overall, I think the shot still seems to work well.

Does this photograph convey a feeling of something to you and if so
what?

Very nice lighting. Nice contrast within the branches of the trees as well. Well done.

Interesting perspective, however, I think that I would have focused more on the people, or left them out entirely. It seems to focused on such a little area of the photograph.

A good shot full of color. The sky seems a little to unaturally dark, however, but otherwise very nice!

Overall a nice shot. I think that perhaps it maybe more dramatic closer to the ground with more of the golden hay, but still a good shot.

Does this photograph seem to convey a feeling of freedom or not it
not quite rise to hit it's mark?

This photograph was taken with Fuji Provia 100F Slide film at the Omaha Zoo. I was intrigued by the way the shadows of the dome intersected on this hill.
Dallas in Color.
