I thank you both for your input. Farouk, I have also been trying to figure how to make this photograph snap a little more. I thought about going your way with the larger DOF and perhaps reversed lighting. Last night I took this photograph into photoshop, cropped the image, and applied some filters to accentuate the top card. This is essentially the reverse of what you suggested. Do you think that the results are better or worse? The link is below.

Good composition and I like the shape, however the DOF is a little off towards the top. Otherwises nice.
