  1. The element that caught my eye initially was the transparency of the water. That and the pleasing reflections serve to make a very nice photo. You've already pointed out the elements that could have improved the shot but sometimes we take what we get and I think you've done a credible job with this one. As far as the other issues are concerned it's probably in my interests to keep my mouth shut...:)

Viewed at a small size the image is nice but it falls apart when viewed large. I suspect this is due to a bad scan. There is considerable fringing and quite a bit of dust on the photo. The subject matter is interesting but I'm afraid the design doesn't do it justice.

Give the exotic nature of the subject this is a good photo. The lighting is good but it seems to my eye that the left most clump of vegatation needs more saturation to balance the clump on the right.

To my eyes, this photo embodies what makes a picture work. The design and technical proficiency add up to a well done and communicative photograph.

From a purely design point I think there's too much water on the bottom and the main elements are all crammed into the top half of the shot. I like the inclusion of the person. It helps with setting the scale.
  2. Mainly, my suggestions have to do with minor, subjective tweaks of this fine image. I would lower the highlights to bring out the clouds and slightly increase the sharpness to emphasize the texture of the foliage. Otherwise I think this rendition is fine.

A fine shot that could have benefitted from more depth of field but nonetheless overcomes this slight limitation thanks to the color and composition of the shot.

The composition, technical expertise and subject all combine to provide a very pleasing photo. I particularly like the framing to emphasize the scale of the scene. Well done.

Technically I think you've done a fine job in capturing this little scene. The acuity is superior. Unfortunately, the composition itself and the subject matter is not that interesting. I see potential here but not with this broad overall view. Focusing on specific details would have been more interesting.

As a character study/street scene I think you've done a good job. I do believe there are some technical issues that could be improved. My main suggestion is to open the shadow under the hat. The shadow over his eyes tends to deaden them. I've uploaded an example.

You've captured this very nicely. Your placement of the plane of focus maximises the sharpness of the image. BTW, this is a damselfly, not a dragonfly...:) They hold their wings together instead of spread out flat.

A nice image of a visually interesting area. I think technically you've done a good job balancing the shadows and highlights. The inclusion of people adds scale and interest to the shot.
