"Forgive my ignorance, but what camera/process would give four shots on a single 8x10 piece of film?" Using a pre-cut dark slide(s) to mask off portions of the image during exposure is easy to do. I've done it to create two 4x10 panoramic images on one 8x10 sheet of film.
