Beautiful landscape!
Love the fence in the foreground, the framing, the depth of field.

Hard to photograph Icelandic dawn... I used the ISO400 setting,
noise levels are still acceptable. The church looked so peaceful and
serene in the middle of the deserted, frozen landscape. I hope I
managed to capture that. Please let me know what you think

Sunset photographed from my balcony. Not sure about black frame with
blurred edges. Atmosphere always hazy around here, so used a yellow
filter in photoshop. Still, I wish that the background would have
been clearer. I would really appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks!

A street on Boston's Beacon Hill. As quiet as it gets with everybody
out of town for Independence Day.

I am adding this *general* comment to this picture for lack of a better venue. Maybe it will be possible to make it more conspicuous later.
My comment concerns ratings for pictures, and my first complaint has to do with low ratings that are not accompanied by any comment. I sincerely believe that a low rating calls for an articulate motivation (along the lines of 'I don't like it because ...' ) much more than a high rating. Therefore, I would be most grateful if people would leave such a comment along with their average/ below average rating.
Secondly, I have noticed that the lowest ratings most frequently come from photo.net members that have no photographs uploaded, or if they do have any, their portfolios are sub-mediocre in quality and thin in quantity. I agree that not every critic is an artist i.e. not everybody must have a portfolio, but, please, if you give a low rating, justify it. And, if you cannot do any better (or, if you are doing much worsej yourself), for all that is Holy, stay quiet and refrain from rating other people's work until you gain some experience.
Third, if you do not leave a comment, and you don't have a portfolio, it is not possible to contact you (or at least, I don't know how) other than by e-mail, which would require much more effort than your low ratings are worth.
Thank you for reading this.

This immaculate Chevy is seen in the immaculate hubcap of
another '50s beauty. I would very much appreciate your comments.
Thanks!

DAvid, I tried to leave the picture unmanipulated (mostly because I'm not very good at using Photoshop). How does the saturation tool work?

I'm not sure about the black edge. Somehow I find that it helps focus on the subject. What do you think?

I am a novice photographer, so any feedback is most welcome!!
Thank you.

I found these siamese flowers at the local conservatory. it seemed
like an interesting subject. the flowers themselves are very little
manipulated (dodging and burning on some petals), but I tried to
cover the background that, even at f=3.2 was too clear and distracting
