Absolutely great photo... the flattening effect, contrast, composition are all remarkable. BTW, the lines look "dead straight" to me, for what it's worth :-).

Love the subtle color gradations.

I like it very much, mostly because of how vague and sensual it is. I particularly like the way the upper edge of the pepper fades away to the left, and the topography becomes increasingly distinct to the lower right. It reminds me of some of the conte still lifes of the old masters. Very nice shot.

Love the violent lines in this one. The initial impression is that you are witnessing an earthquake scene, although it turns out to be quite idyllic when you look closer. Nice job.

Thanks for the comments - I think I agree with both of you. This is part of a poster idea (that will involve overlayed text, etc.) - I think there's still hope in that context, but as a stand along image, I prefer the original as well, which is here. It was tri-x processed for as grainy an effect as possible. I think I got carried away with the PS version :-)
