    Hi, sorry for noticing your comment late. Agree about eyes, though I wanted to focus on the silk thread in this shot. Could not have both due to DOF. To answer your question, the 180 gives about 45 cm distance from sensor to subject.

    I came across this grass snake on an island in the Finnish

    archipelago. I took a large number of pictures to get the sharpness in

    the right place. The snake is very small, hence the shallow DOF. i did

    not manipulate the photo apart from noise reduction and contrast

    adjustment.
