<p>as much as i think im crazy to do this, i may be selling be offering to sell mine this weekend! i found someone whose selling a summilux that i really want, and i need some cash fast.... jatiphoto@gmail.com</p>

i push whatever film im using whenever i feel like it, regardless of format. its just a piece of film, make it do what you want it to do!!
-
man look.... if i were you id get a bunch of tri-x. thats all you need. 3200 would be the slowest id shoot it at. 6400 and 3200. get you some xtol to develop it in and youre good to go. maybe some acufine if you want to get fancy. its just film. make it do what you want it to do.

i know itll be great in the dark. i was really wondering about well-lit shots. ill be in the streets with it most of the time.
-
from knowing what lengths i like to shoot with, i 'need' both the 28 and something a little wider. so i was leaning toward the 24L. for me, its way easier to scrape up 400 for the 28, so i can kinda get that whenever. with the 24L, when i have that much money at one time, i need to make my move, before i start chipping away at the money. so since i know im gonna have enough to get it soon, im tryin to get more opinions on it. it seems like everyone who tells me its not a good lens never actually had one, but knew someone else who had it. im pretty confident that its probably a really good lens, but ive never really heard any of my friends say so many negative things about a top-of-the-line lens like the 24L. i am going to buy one soon. :-) thanks for the responses.

hello all. i have two 1vs. one has 35L. need another lens for the other one.
with leicas, my primary lenses are 21, 28, 35. never shot with 24 before, but i
like how it feels. since itll be much easier to get 400 to get the 28 in the
future than 1100 for the 24, i figured id get it while i have the money. i
already know ill like the 28 focal lengh-wise, even though its not an L. my
question is, is the 24 that bad? ive read a few good things, but mostly bad
about its sharpness. some of my colleagues are saying dont even bother with the
24, its sharpness is that bad. but its an L! i want it! what do yall think? whos
actually using the 24L out here?

hello all. i recently bought a bargain-listed 1v hs from keh. checking out how
many rolls have been through it, the counter says one-hundred something. judging
from the scratches and nicks on the outside, id say i should add a thousand to
that number. im running my first roll through it now. i bought another bargain
1v from keh a few months ago, and it had 500 rolls through it already. it works
perfectly. this one has double, so im wondering if i should be over-worried
about anything. shutter looks pristine. it feels fine, everything works on it.
im not REALLY that worried about it, but i thought id ask anyway. ive bought
20-30 year old leicas without really even thinking about how many rolls went
through them, so maybe theres no reason to worry. it just makes you think about
it more when you can actually see how many rolls have been through a body.

1V! i got one a few months ago, and am totally in love with it. get one used for cheap. really an amazing body. throw an L lens on there and youre good to go.
-
looks like i can get it shipped ground from freestyle. probably will take 2 weeks to get here, but ill have to do it. thanks! i wonder why b&h doesnt have rodinal anymore.
-
im in the us! i forgot stores probably cant ship rodinal. im in dc, but can go to philly/nyc if i need to.
-
hello all. i recently bought from B&H some rodinal in powder form that you have
to mix yourself. i forget the company that makes it. im not sure where i went
wrong, but my film came out horribly. rodinal is my favorite developer, and i
really dont even want to mix my own again. is there any company that still makes
it in liquid form? or something similar? if so, please let me know what they
are. thanks.

man, i did the same thing like 4 months ago. had an m4, m4p, m6, and mp. 35lux, 28elmarit, 21elmarit....sold the mall so i could upgrade my digital stuff. the plan was to do that, make more money, and buy the leica stuff again. well, ive been making more money, and it definitely feels good going into a shoot knowing you have what you need (digitally) to do the job. so i hadnt even shot film for several months. then about a month ago i bought at 1V, and i LOVE it. never had an auto film slr before. lots of fun with a 16-35 on it. anyway, i truly miss my leicas. and i somewhat regret selling the mp. especially when all this leica stuff constantly goes up in price. so i actually kept my m4. i really love m4s. i knew id get the most for the mp, which is why i sold it. i do intend to get another one oneday. but i bought a 35 summicron 4th version the other day, so im back!! ill definitely be getting another 28, and another body. since most of my work is digital, i cant say that ill get back to having 4 bodies again, but ill definitely have at least 2. for now, once i get a 28, ill just need to get another body as cheaply as possible. so that will probably be another m4p, or an m6. or maybe another m4. an mp is not in the plans anytime soon. if i had several thousand to spend, id get a cheaper leica body, and throw the rest of the money into my digital stuff. hope that helps..... actualy i played with a ds m3 yesterday, that was going for 600. im even thinking about getting an m3 if i can get one really cheap.....

if you still want to sell the iv hs let me know. im looking to buy one in a week or so....

hey. i skated for almost 20 yrs before i even thought of picking up a camera. from what ive see over the years, serious/pro skate photographers pretty much use the same high-end equipment that any major sports photographer would use. not alot of superlong lenses, but definitely maybe 70-200 in the bag. but mostly they use stuff on the wide and really wide end. they shoot wide cause youre usually pretty close to the skater, and you usually have to get his body, the skateboard, and whatever hes doing a trick up/down/over in the picture too. they also use the higher-end bodies from canon and nikon.
-
go with the 16-35. man,... i was going to type this long thing, but i changed my mind. :-) im a leica man in my heart, and new to canon digital, but this lens, is starting to change the way i feel about digital slr photography. and then, not that it really matters, but look at how many pros use the 16-35! that should be enough to at least give it a try.......<div></div>

so im shooting in the mean streets of dc yesterday, and my m4 seemed to jam a
few times. the seemed/sounded like it didnt go back into place, so i couldnt
advance the film to take another shot. then after a little while it would. this
happend about 4 times. after i finished the roll and took the plate off, i was
appalled to find that the curtain wasnt even connected any more on the left
side!! wtf is going on!! i havent been shooting any differently, but obviously
its broke. is it worth fixing if its going to be like $700 and i can find
another m4 for maybe a grand? you think its better to have a new shutter in
this, or buy another m4 with a 40 year old shutter in it? can the magic be
restored in my baby, or are they just never the same after something like this?<div></div>
-
no desire for m8 whatsoever, but will be getting another m4p and m6 classic.....
-
you can check my site out. if its b/w, its leica. www.jatilindsay.com
-
-
id say, get an m6 ttl or classic, and a 35 cron. maybe a 50 cron later. even if you never buy another leica thing ever again, youll be straight.
-
M4-P all day. i love mine. bought a beat up one 3 years ago and havent had any real problems with it. ive had less problems with it than my M6.....
