Thanks for your comments and ratings. I am afraid the background is 100% real. This waterfall is in the middle of Brisbane city of all places, very close to Roma Street! I was very happy with how these pictures turned out, not least because the background looks so good it could be misconstrued to be unreal; but I know different!

You have guessed the reason behind the 'Harsh' part of the title, the harshness of the sun coupled with the strong contrasty nature of the shot. I added the 'glamour' part in because I think she still looks glamorous even though the conditions of the shot were not conducive to glamour as such.

I used Fuji Velvia 100 Slide film for this shot. I love the colour saturation and definition achievable from using slide, evidenced by the difference in the sunflower shots on my home page.
