Thanks for the comments guys, and if I may respond to the common theme here - the sharpness of the tree; I think the major cause is the scanning process. I've tried a number of scanning methods and I just can?t get the results I am after. The slide itself is nice and sharp, but it loses so much when I scan it. Admittedly the scanner is not high quality, but its not a pile of junk either. I guess its this that is making me more inclined to shoot digital, as much as the purest photographer in me does not want to.

Any help with tips and settings on the scanner would be appreciated, its a canon CanoScan 8000F film and slide scanner. Thanks,

You've done a great job of not only capturing this scene, but giving it a feeling all of its own. Great stuff...

We were so close to these lions and lioness, it was incredible. There is a funny story that goes along with this as well, but too long for here... I took this with my 350D at 300mm on my 100-300lens, so like 480mm on a non-digital SLR; allowing my to get this close. It was an amazing experience...

This guy was awesome; you could feel his intensity, his eyes were on

us the entire time. It was a rush being so close to one of natures

greatest predators. Any comments and ratings much appreciated.

    Cheers...

The zebra were so awesome; no matter how many of them we saw, I was

always fascinated. As usual, comments and ratings much appreciated.

This place was incredible; I'd rate it as the highlight of our month long trip. I have a roll of slide film from this site as well, so I can?t wait to get them back from the lab...

Thank you all for your comments.

This guy was amazing, allegidly the largest lion in Africa! He is a

resident of a lodge just outside Windhoek Namibia. We were so

close, it was incredible; I could feel his stare as he was sizing me

up for a meal. Very intense...
