beautiful composition and tone.

this is so dreamy and beautiful. I love how you kept it darker and moodier than brightening it up.

i really enjoy this. I have a thing for reflections, and then the contrasty sharp leaves just really make it for me. Beautiful, calming color as well. Great job.

Zeiss lens are superior in quality and are beautifully sharp. Polaroids however, give a classic, grainy sense. For your information, this was on a tripod @ 1/125. With this photo, i wanted a very hazy, late afternoon sense, and i believe i captured it. I wanted also to highlight his perfect back, not his dreads or his jeans. I did shoot this same pose with my 20D. The picture is clear and concise and perfect...and i hate it.

i try to stay as "traditional" as i can. I love shooting portraits with my 4x5, and i haven't gotten much use out of my hasselblad (finding an excuse to use it, a series perhaps?). And yes, "Her Silent Awakening" are self portraits. HSA are my initials :)

Yes, this is part of a window light portrait series i am working on. I do love my 100 macro lens, however, it can be frusterating on the 20D. For post processing, there really isn't much. Slight color balance, but otherwise, she has a pretty perfect face. I smoothed it out a bit with a gaussian blur layer and sharpened up the rest. Good luck with people!!

thanks devin! you have definitley encouraged me to do so. I was thinking about doing it with my hasselblad, but if i decide to do it with my 20D, i have the perfect 100mm lens. i also forgot to mention your cropping is perfect.

this is a great shot and i have been thinking about doing something like this in my city along with stories. What did you shoot this with? I think you did a fine job with the conversion.

such gentle light. i really feel like i walked into the room.

very beautiful. I love all the absent space. i see we are both fans of some serious dramatic lighting!

To answer your questions! No, there wasn't a reflector, but there is a skylight making the catch light in his eyes and doing a little filling in. Also, i didn't add that after i do one type 55, i take tons of digitals with the 20D. So, yes, i have them in color as well. I have been having tremendous luck lately and been getting exactly what i have wanted and more :) Thanks for the great comment!!

of course, any and all comments are always appreciated. This is a part of an
ongoing window light series. Each model is allowed one Type 55 Polaroid.
Make it or break it!

as always, any and all comments are appreciated!!

window light is definitley my favorite. This gives a great sense of time and place. Really nice composition. We, as photographers, always want to get closer and closer to our subjects, this is a great example of when we need to step away.

Thank you for taking time to comment! Tom-Roo is his name, after Roo from Winnie the Pooh because he is full of the beans. I have this photo with the eyes in focus and decided i like the foreground (his nose) in focus better. It gave a better visualization of placement. Derek, i think what i have just said to Tom, also applies to your comment.
Again, thanks for stopping by!

A digital capture from a long night in the studio with the 4x5 and these martini
glasses on top of black glass.

I've seen myself work into a particular style, and i must say, this look my
musicians give always seems to be captured. Any and all comments are
always appreciated!
