This image reflects the cool moist atmosphere of a warm summer day in the forest perfectly. OK, maybe it's just my wishful thinking after too many 90+ degree weeks on the east coast, but it looks very inviting to take a seat.

I agree. The lighting and mood are wonderful. If it was my image I would have stressed the formality of the setting a bit more, keeping it a bit straighter. But that's probably just the boring scientist in me. In any case, I love the mood and feel of the image.

Ah, look at all the tephras and paleosols. A beautiful spot. As far as the tent rocks go, they are, in my opinion, a little bit lost between the trees, shrubs, canyon walls etc. Nevertheless, your image brings back fond memories.

I agree - it is a nice delicate image. I like the graceful curve of the vine and leaves. As far as the background goes: I recall a time when big, fat hexagonal out-of-focus highlights were all the rage (not to speak of the donut highlights that showed that you could afford a mirror lens - I never could :-). A beautiful result Timo!

I like the overall composition with the dark, diagonal foreground, which still holds detail, and the nice pastel colors of the background mountains and sky. A very nice image!

Looks just as dry as our forests this time of the year. I like the light and composition. It captures the mood of a hot summer day well.

I agree with the previous comments. Love the sky, but the thin bright line in the center of the image between the foreground trees and the mountains is distracting.

Thank you Tommy, that was exactly what I was going for. I had been sailing just an hour earlier when the dark clouds chased me off the lake.

This is a puzzling image. The leaf seems to define one set of scale (a few inches), but the water ripples seem much bigger. In any case, I like the color contrast and composition. Well done. Christoph

Brian, I ran across this image by accident (it was at the bottom of the mirrorless monday) page. I didn't know what it was, but right away it reminded me of the Lake District. Now, I have been to the Lake District once, 3 decades ago when I was in high school. After checking my travel log from those days, the closest I came to Stickle Tarn was Bowfell on a somewhat roundabout hike from the Eskdale Youth Hostel to Scafell. So, I'd say you captured the spirit oof the landscape very well. I like the composition with the edge of the tarn down the middle, but the symmetry broken by the boulders on the right. It shows just enough sky to convey the general mood. Well done, and thanks for the memories. Christoph

One of the storms that brought welcomed relief from the current heat. Even in northern Maine it was in the mid-eighties! I felt a grainy b/w is a bit more impressive than the original color image. thanks for stopping by, and your comments, critiques,suggestions are always appreciated.
