It was includes in Canon 5D package as kit lens. Dealer sold the 5D separately.

Now if someone could come up with a solution to nose smudging I might be interested.
Install Giottos Screen Protector on your nose. :)

$33.50 + $4.95 S/H is ridiculous for a screen protector no matter how good the material is. I believe the plastic is made in China with less than $1 cost. Just handle your camera with great care, or any part of the camera as well as the lens could get scratch.

Just wait and see. If no one wants that price, it will drop.

Order from Amazon, and they will ship the camera in 4 -6 weeks.

Camera: 50D
Lenses: 17-55, or 10-22 and 17-40.

When you see both "reserve" and "buy it now", you should skip it. Spending $4300 for a heavily used Canon 500mm f/4L IS, I pass.

Is it always the same lens?
My son is learning to use DSLR. This is my back-up 20D. He tried two different lenses: 17-85 and 17-40, and many pictures taken from both lenses have spots. I rarely used the 20D at f11, so I didn't notice before he showed me. Should I let Canon clean it?

-

I used rocket air blower and Canon sensor cleaning instruction to clean the sensor, and I didn't see any dust on the surface of the filter, but the spots still show up at f11. Any suggestions?

There're 2 L-class zoom sets: f/4: 17-40, 24-105, 70-200 (70-200IS) and f/2.8: 16-35, 24-70, 70-200 (70-200 IS). They're all pro L-class lenses with near perfect optic quality. If you need f/2.8, buy the f/2.8 set. Otherwise, buy the f/4 set. You won't be disappointed with any lenses in the group. If you need further information, go here.

With $8,000 camera and lenses, why do you not know the right equipment you need?

As an owner of the Canon 5D Mk II, had you registered your camera, you should have received the 'EOS Digital for Professionals' package that includes the following privileges:
1. $100 voucher for out of warranty repair service.
2. 3 (working) day turnarround time for Canon factory service center repairs.
3. 20% discount on service and parts for Canon factory service repairs.
4. Priority technical support.
5. Exclusive email support address
6. Automatic email notification of firmware and software updates.
I think it's too late to ask Calumet for factory defective issues. You should either call the Canon priority techinacal support 1 (800) OK CANON or email to Canon exclusive email support eosdigitalsupport@cits.canon.com with your sample picture showing possible CMOS defective.

In general, lens "upgrades" aren't something I particularly wish for. You typically get 5% better performance for a 50% price increase.
It is true.

Due to shortage in demand especially L lenses, The current price after rebate is actually higher than the price before the rebate program started.

The Canon Compact Battery Pack CP-E4 works with Canon 580EX/2, 550EX, 540EZ, 430EZ, MT-24EX and MR-14EX Flash Units.

Thank you David. After upgrading to firmware version 1.1.0, the problem no longer exists.

-

My 5D Mk II occasionally does exactly what Nima said. It isn't about the LCD setting or PRAM, and I still don't know the reason.

-

Canon soon or later will instroduce the new version the two legendary lenses: the EF 24-70mm f/2.8L and the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS.

This seller in Hongkong has the lowest price. I bought one and am happy with it. When I received the collar, the screw was a little tight since it was off by a fraction of an inch, so I used a channellock plier to adjust it. Do it carefully, (use only very little force), and it will fit perfectly. Other than that, It looks and performs exactly like the Canon collar that I had before.

-

I did make many cuts, but it still didn't fit. Yes, the Omni-Bounce OM-EW works nicely with my new 430EX II.

Yesterday, I sent an email to Sto-fen asking about the Omni-Bounce OM-EY that doesn't fit my new 580EX II. Today I received a reply email from Sto-Fen.

Philip,
The rubber seals on the 580EXII require you do the following the first few times of use. We did this here in the office on our 580EXII and it works just fine with the OM-EY:
Canon 580EXII:
Before installing the Omni for the first time, pull apart on the long sides to allow slipping over the rubber seals running down the sides of the flash head. Then place Omni over the head of flash, with the arched dome to the top, and position with a solid push down with the palm of your hand. To remove the Omni grasp by sides and pull up and off of the flash head.
Ernie

I believe the cost of this little piece is less than a dollar if It's made from China. They should redesign a new one for the 580EX II instead of telling me to risk my new flash by forcing the Omni Bounce into the flash head. This could increase the chance to break the rubber seal on both sides of the flash.
I ended up throwing it into my trash can.
