Its classy.

Have you considered the Canon 1.2 as a concession? It as fast as the early Noct and almost as fast as the current 1.0.
I just bought one for $160 in spectacular mechanical and optical condition and found the hood for a reasonable price as well.
There were a few on ebay recently.

A perspective control lens becasue its ability to gyrate in multiple directions with a softar
mounted to approximate the drugged viewpoint of distorted clarity.

GREAT STUFF! 180 degrees from what I've relegated my Leicas to. Time for a personal reassessment.
Thank you for sharing. Who is this guy?
As to how to tell if they were taken with a Leica - each photo indicates the camera and model used.

How does one obtain the CD. Thanks HT

Not knowing the $$ involved it may be an opportunity to purchase a rapidwinder

I use a IIIg with a 50 elmar or canon and a IIf with a 21mm CV.
The IIf is my favorite. Its simplicity is a piece of art. No slow dial or Selftimer. Its considerably lighter than the g or and of my Ms.

Wherever I carry it - saddlebags or waist pack (usual means) I will keep the camera in a sealed Hefty Freezer Bag (they are the heaviest duty plus a little color tinted). That helps me through any sudden showers or storms here in South Florida. I also keep a few folded garbage bags (white tall kitchen size). There is much solice in driving in a rain storm knowing your camera gear is 100% waterproof even though you are getting wetter by the second.

The absolute coolest on set use of Leicas was in the movie the TEN COMMANDMENTS. Yul
Brenner was a Leica decotee. His wife published a book of his photos.
One of the photos in the book showed Yul dressed in costume as Ramses the King. Around
his neck was a Leica M3 with a 35mm and goggles. It was very surreal if you've ever seen the
movie.

Like you, my most memorable photos are in my mind not the ones printed on paper. The
paper ones are only a reminder of the experience, and sometime unnecessary.

I am looking for a user 35mm SBLOO viewfinder. Thanks

Who can hammertone refinish an M2? Any idea of cost? Thanks HT

Very nice case. I want one for a IIIg. I can't look back but is the belt oriented horizontally or vertically?
-
I am contemplating using a 35mm lens on a IIIg. Is the whole
viewfinder including the potion outside the frame lines close to the
FOV of a 35?
I have used the M2 VF to approximate a 28mm lens and wonder if the
IIIg is as covenient for a 35.
I will test it in any event tonight. Thanks HT

Good stuff! I want to share these with some co-workers in Miami. They will be moved by pics
of their homeland.
I would like a print of the Ox Driver. Please let me know how I can get one from you.

Brownes Photocenter on 22nd Avenue or Biscayne Blvd? It brings back memories of my Dad and many Saturdays.

Hi my name is Harvey and I am a bagaholic.
From one to another - what's so special? I'm interested. Thanks HT

Thanks for all the input. The elmar is the contemporary choice. I look forward to comparing
the Canon eo it.
I have 90 elmar but I have other preferences when I use that focal legnth.

I meant Summilux is too pricey.

I have obtained a very nice IIIg which i will utilize sparingly. I have a few M's with various
lenses but not too much LTM equiptment anymore.
I have a 50mm collapsible 2.8 elmar as well as a 50mm 1.8 Canon and a few CV lenses.
What is the best 50mm to mate up with the IIIg, contemporary to its era? The Summiflex is
just to pricey though.
Thanks HT

I have a IIIg that had deteriorating vulcanite. I was upset because a little piece turned into a larger piece. I sent the camera to DAG on last Monday - by Thursaday I had it back recovered. I took one of the flakes that had come off and laid it on the recovered body and could not see ANY difference - looks, texture, feel, etc.
The exotics are cool - but this result is restoration not decoration.

I wish leica would invent the "holy grail" - digital film. A back or insert to convert a film
camera - (M7) to become digital "compatable". No screen needed, no memory cards, just
digital film. I bet we will see it someday.

Joop - would you mind doing another M3 beater? I am happy to spend the $$ for it. Thanks HT (traut at bellsouth dot net)
Voigtlander VC II meter ?
in Leica and Rangefinders

I have the VC II and have the same film speed problem - it does not lock.
I use the Digisix much more because of the information dial - it shows all SS/aperture combinations at a glance - the VC2 requires either mental interpolation or resetting the ss and then adjusting the aperture (or vice versa) to get a new reading. Just my two cents.
