A few of us have successfully added a CV mini 28mm viewfinder. Mine is removable and I no of one other permenently attached. Very cool and accurate at 28mm 16:9 setting.

It makes some sense. The old camera store is gone. The sales help today can't sell - they wait
for things to be bought. The Mac analogy is good. Place your wares in a controlled
environment, sold by knowledgable employees and have sufficient broad inventory on hand
plus increased profit margins. It might work.

UH OH! Here it comes.

I added a VIEWFINDER to mine!
Its a great little camera but I missed the optical viewfinder so I added one. I one that was glued on but was not thrilled with that alternative. I mounted a removable 28/35mm VC mini finder upside down (accessory foot sticking up) between the flash and controls. I use a low profile velcro alternative (a totally different material) called dualock from 3M. I use the regular strength adhesive matrerial as they make an industrial strength one as well.
The foot of the finder can be removed if 1) you pry up the silver paper tab and 2) have a small enough torx wrench. My alternative is to leave it on, put a small piece of the duallock on the top of the finder and mount it upside sown. It preserves its use with other equipment as well.
The 28mm is almost perfectly in line with the 28mm wide at 16:9.
Just thought I would share. I also bought Luigi's case for it which is beautiful. THere are some other mods on the Leica digital forum where I got my idea from the gentlement that glues his mini finder to the camera.

Last night I thought the site was hijacked. After readong what Jorge is going through
hijacking would be relatively "good news". Reading Jorge's explanation only makes me
realize how little I really know or understand.
Jorge, keep up the good job and better things will come to you.
Thanks,
Harvey

Andrew,
I did buy the $200 lens. It seemed like a very good price. I also am buying the MD-2 for it.
since its not a primary focal legnth I was wondering about the difference in the VFs. I've had
this lens twice before and sold both of them.
I might try the 21 finder for a while.
Thanks

I recently purchased a 15mm cv lens without finder. I already own 21mm finders. Is the
21mm finder possible to be effectively utilized with te 15?
I understand it is 107 vs 90 +/- degrees.

I am not getting that message any longer. I now get a message that the site is "parked" Also,
the same message on the sister site.

I get a very strange message when I try to access it. Not a good feeling

1997
MSRP $189.00
(My wife would see that and probably not bother me about another new camera)

I was in France last July. I brought an M6 and a Nikon D70. I took over 1,000 images and shot 2 rolls of film doing so.
My reccomendation is bring the Leica and oly and shoot the hell out of the Oly and use the M6 for what it is best at (within your type of photography).

It probably began life as a DS and was transformed to a SS during a repair during the last 50
years.

You lie! You don't deserve Amanda or the Leica.
Truthfully, living in South Florida I enjoyed viewing the portraits from both esthetic and physical viewpoints. The second shot (vertical) reminds me of a Vogue magazine ad from the 50's. Enjoy your valuable asset and the Leica too.
Thanks for posting them.

I also opted for the LX1 - after you use it for a month you completely forget its not the Leica
version. The camera is wonderful in 16:9 ratio. I have a D70, S500 (a very nice pocket
alternative) as well as some Minolta 5 meg reflex digitals all in ones. The LX-1 is never at
home. Either my son or wife takes it most of the time. I bought it on ebay for around $400
plus some change. Its a no brainer to me vs the one with the red dot. Seriously you will forget
which one you bought. I hope this makes some sense to you.

No offense, but that is the worst attempt at a photograph I ever saw.

the shutter speed attachment was know as an MR-4 meter.

Why do we need to criticise? This is very much an attmept at art on several levels. I credit the
young man. I also see this as the quickest history level out there. I will share it with my sons.
It reminds me - did you hear the one about the three naked men on the park bench? email
me.

Maybe I am confused. This one has the "drinking cup" hhod. I thought it was type 1. Am I
incorrect?
By the way, what is VIEWFINDER?

I just acquired a 90mm Type 1 Summicron at the camera show Al Kaplan advised us about.
The show was depressing to me. It once was able to fill every nook and cranny pf a large
armory - now a miniature of its previous self.
The lens is excellent plus to mint minus. It looks beautiful on my M3..
How does this lens compare to my 105 nikkor will be an interesting test. What is the
general consensus regarding this lens? Any sample images?
Of course its been raining since I bought it. By the way I paid $300 for the lens with
proper front and rear caps.
Thanks

IMHO it will be a niche camera. Not a "must have" for Leica enthusiasts. My thought
process is that photogs that use Leica tend to know what is "good" and already have made
a corallary move to a DSLR.
The Leica has specific functions in film base portion of their shooting that will not be
replaced by a Digi-M.
An APS sensor digital M for $5K will not be a good investment for a hobbiest that will want
to upgrade as soon as a FF is available or some such design change. As for Pro use it will
not replace a 5D or D2H.
I have many Leica bodies and a plethora of lenses. I will stick with a Nikon DSLR until I can
pick up a used Digi-M.

If it is a design flaw than CV should be (made) responsible. Have others here experienced
similar weak parts? I am afraid to use my VFs now.

Bootiful Miami- I am on the way to a remote Bahamian Island at 7 am to look at real estate. It
should be in the 50's and clear.

I truly think she is great. She is adorable, filthy rich and a non-conformist, willing to laugh at
herself and live life in public the forum.
I know many not able to handle fame and its downside with as much aplomb and humor as
she has. Give her her due.
