This is truly an awesome piece. Your style is reminiscient of my favorite illustrator, M.C. Escher http://www.mcescher.com/ you have very strong repeating geometric shapes. That is what I love about Escher's work. He made unique art from redundant patterns.

I have looked at this piece over and over, but that gold tubing keeps taking my eye from the natural flow. I love the piece, and the clouds are what do it for me, not as much the lifesaver. I keep ducking when I look at this piece because I feel as if I am going to hit my head on the clouds. The other distraction I have is the Oar, or whatever that pole thing is sticking up in the middleof the frame. But other than that, I really like it.

I agree, the crop downplays the not as spectacular foreground. However, it required the excellent shot to to have somethine to crop in the first place. Great shot.
  1. The opinon that strikes me is very similar to that of Henri's. I love that the relationship between civilization and the wild are symbiotic. That no matter how sophisticated we get, our roots and origins are still right next to us, or in this case, right across the river.

I have seen all your work in the portfolio thus far, and I must tell you that this is the first one that I have commented on. Your work is astounding. Really it is. I am amazed at the level of clarity in all your pics. Do you ever take a bad picture? Seriously? It always seems as if nature saves it's special moments for your lens, because you manage to capture them perfectly everytime. In my eyes anyway. You have an awesome porfolio. I look forward to seeing some of your work in some coffetable literature in my home one day.. I think that is the best compliment to a photographer. To be shared in a book of works with other great photographers. Because you are a great photographer. You have a definite style that not only attracts, but holds attention. I too admire your ability to forsee the frame that you intended to capture and then work w/ what nature gave you to produce this masterpiece. Work well done. I applaud you.

I am with ya Juaini. That is what keeps my attention in this piece, I am still trying to find out where the cloud reflections end and where the rocks begin in the water. Excellent seperation of subject with the trees. It is perfect as is.

I love the perspective in this piece, however, your reflection in the car is a little distracting since the light is the closest thing to the viewer. It is a beautiful car and an awesome job capturing it otherwise. This would definitely sell.

I think the "thing" in the lower right adds balance to the piece. This is an excellent shot, and I love the title. I am a programmer by trade and a photographer at heart. You have inspired me to do a theme based shoot.

I am not concerned w/ the leaf either, it is the large shadow in the top right that I am bothered by. It intrudes too much on the rose's splendor. It reminds me of a picture when someone got their finger in the way of the flash. I love the subject, but that is killin me.

I would like to know what lens you used as well, as I have the same camera.... This is a gorgeous shot. I am waiting for a unicorn to emerge from the treeline....
  2. As a dog owner myself I really appreciate this piece. I love not only the expression of joy on the dog's face but the feeling of chaos all around the picture then in the mirror everything seems to stand still and remain calm. It is kind of representative of life isn't it? All things going so fast that they are a blur all around you, but when you look at the things that are already behind you and that you can't change they are serene and undisturbed by the present or the future. Or maybe it is just a dog in a rearview mirror...... It is an excellent piece none the less!!! It should have scored higher in my opinion.
  3. Upon first glance this piece seems very simple and empty, however, if you notice, all the lines point the eye into the corner. Even the shadows direct the viewer to the corner. It kind of reminds me of times when I got in trouble in grade school and they put me in the corner for recess.... Awesome piece!!
