Simple, low key and high impact. Very well done.

Just about the best shot I have seen that when I first looked said to myself "photoshop", only to find it was a real photograph.
Tremendous shot, great eye.

Amazingly simple, but perfectly wonderful.

Vail, I just wanted to offer my critique on this one...
Do it again, and again. Lovely work.

portrait of someone who has seen much of life's less known side. Great composition and use of light/timing.

Wonderful content, composition and exquisite finish.
I find the image draws one into a state of relaxation and repose. However, the lack of drama, and its apparent serenity, leaves me looking for something a little stronger to "hold" to.

Hey Lou Ann,
sorry, I don't check my own stuff much. The sky is partly a result of a vignette that was introduced in PS and patly, the clouds that were present. I added flash and reduced the background exposure a little, but that part was at the time it was shot.

Aurthur. This one is a shot that evokes discomfort with the plight of the poor. I find I am left in pain for this gentleman, yet intrigued by his history..
Good work. D.

..and beauty. I love to see portraiture that is more than the sum of its parts. This one stands out as thoughtful and has a captivating look.
