marcadamus 1 Posted January 11, 2012 Violent winds blowing snow across meter-thick translucent clear ice at Icefields pass in the Canadian Rockies. This is a single exposure.
melloncollie 0 Posted January 11, 2012 something different, something mind blowing. perfect subtle tones and stunning composition. i also experienced that in winter scenes it is often enough one exposure.
alessandra_manzotti 0 Posted January 11, 2012 AMAZING IMAGE!!! it is so intriguing, i cannot stop looking at it. it is fascinating!i give it a 7++
Timo Hartikainen 556 Posted January 12, 2012 Excellent. I very seldom rate photos with 7 but this one deserves it, in my opinion.
dan_shoe 0 Posted January 12, 2012 Marc,A most striking image, an excellent candidate for black and white. Great contrast on the ice.
w-j-li 0 Posted January 12, 2012 This is your style and your work which I love to learn. I always read your book with some of your pictures. Best Regards,
Christal1664882414 0 Posted January 12, 2012 This remarkable shot is a perfect illustration of why I should get out in the elements (yes, even nasty weather) to shoot. Now if I could just get my husband to go along with that idea. :-)
Daniel Álamo 0 Posted January 12, 2012 Awe FG and half bottom of the shot. The upper one is more "normal"; though knowing the weather conditions I'd say that nothing more could do about.Behind the other you post on NPN, the 2 better of the serie IMO. Maybe just a bit more portion (not everything) of clear area at the top? Just to try to improve still. 6.5/7
kts 0 Posted January 12, 2012 seen this one at npn last week and it's a real stunner Marc....what you persevered to get it is what really blows my mind...great work on your new gallery images as well
whydangle 0 Posted January 12, 2012 The cracks really help convey the extremes. The straight streaks of wind blown snow intersect with the cracks. This one is remarkable in it's display of the elements. The message is loud and clear. I can hear the wind and feel the chill cutting through my layers of down (or whatever you happen to be wearing). I think I could do without so much vignetting at the top. Sort of looks contrived, but it is your style. You've got a winner here, just like so many times before!!
WJBrowning 0 Posted January 12, 2012 Wow what a perfect shot. So much in this shot just grabs your eye and yet it is a simple shot. Really works on so many levels. Best wishes William
marina-cano 0 Posted January 13, 2012 Your sceneries are always out of this world, your work as well. Simply delicious Marc.
benhuybrechts 0 Posted January 15, 2012 Hello Marc,You show me once again, I still can learn a lot. thank you for that. Wonderful picture !Ben
ndj 0 Posted January 16, 2012 This is a real gem of an image Marc! I can appreciate the effort it took to get this one. Things get fairly unpleasant out there on the lake when conditions are like this. The long exposure is what really makes this shot come alive. Brilliant Work guy!All the best,Neil
