thank you for your critique patrick!
first off: i am a huge kubric fan. must not add to this i suppose :)
the charis in the frontline..very well seen. the thing is..that the ground isn't level there.
also the chairs where not parallel to the screen as people move them about a bit when getting in and out. i did take different shots but i went with one where the screen is in the center and cut off a bit from top and bottom, it is a digital photo.
watch tv and do as you're told is a line out of a song, in this case from a band that was called "the pet goats", indie rockband from vienna that does not exist anymore.
it is ment in a social critical way and i am very glad that you got that.
thank you very much for your awesome critque.
next time i will try to get lines in order better, but as you sure do know, it is never that easy :)
thanks and have a good one!

that is in vienna on the square infront of the ratshaus (city council). there is some sort of music event they show on this huge screen.
the seats infront of it are for everybody, the charis behind on the tribunes are for paying customers.
the charis are very real.
i am the worst photoshop-user
!!ever!! :)thanks for your time though, appreciate the kind words. cheers

i like how the cable seems to be soft and elegant compared to the rather rough, strong graphic orientated background.
also it is very well composed
i am not so sure about the colour treatment.

as this place is one of those that come with the best scotch there is there isnt much to add, now is there :)
well..i will find out next year
tho this photo
i do like the soft light
it is very nice to see the sunny spots on the ground abck there.looks like there is quite some movement going on
however what distrubs me is the dark thing on the left..rock..side of the mountian.
what is it, and what does it do ->there<- in the frame.
i feel like the fore ground could have been less disturbing or more interesting.
with this shot id go with less disturbing.
just my two cents.
cheers

i am friends with the band and from time to time i approach them with
my ideas and then we go get a photo.
this is double exposure, as you can see.
i did one in camera and one in photoshop.
this is the photoshop version.
i went with the photoshop version because i could fine tune them to be
just as i wanted them to be.
some might argue it is not a portrait. well, i to me this is an artist
portrait.
any comments and thoughts highly appreciated
cheers

well in that respect it is an interesting shot.
still, i would have chosen a more graphical approach.
personal taste and whatnot.
as far as your story goes, you might have done well if you posted it as a comment for the critique forum :)
well done.

i do not like the blank on the lover right corner.
what doy you want to tell us with this image?
if you are going for such a graphic display in a reflection, i would tilt it so the white clouds cut the green part in half, or to an angle.
also not so sure about the blue sky in it.
maybe go for a long exposure next time.

this type of light effect does actually work almost everywhere haha.
do try to make a portrait with it.
use flash also.
flash in several times.
what is always nice with this is some sort of abandoned architecture.
long hallways.
id say anything rigid with some sort of graphical design that will be a conrast to a sphere.
go for the dark mood, as this is light and must be used as such.
if you set this circle to fill the frame and then have the person walk back, you get a tunnel of light, does look cool too
also use it in the water, do not forget the circ.pol.
hope that helped a bit.

well, to me it does not say drunk. it seems like the guy is all wasted.

thank you for your comment pierre.
with the grain i wanted to go for the look the old tvs had when there was a signal error but i do get your point as i too try to avoid it as often as i can but sometimes use it.
not everyone responds too well to that graina dded and i think it is a fair thing to say.
thanks!
