8.
i had the same issue with my d3 and d3x. i noticed that they expose differently.
if you check the exifs you will see that iso 100 actually reads iso 105 or something.
the number is slightly different. the nikon support confirmed that different cameras work different in this terms and this is how it is supposed to be.
till then i have my d3 on -0.3ev consantly. always

in addition to that you are comparing an 8 year old sensor to a new one.
one that is totally different.

its supposed to be like that, i know in comparism it looks weird, but that can be fixed in post

  9.
no, my world of photography is not everyone elses
but i do not complain.

i am also a graffiti artist and i carry 50 kilograms on my back just for fun...
my photobackpack weights about 10-15 kilos..depending on what i am going to do.
i bring equipment to places if i want that shot.

so do all my friends who make a living with fine art b&w film photography
no one bitches about weight

no one

only on forums.

the flicker in your eyes caused by exhaustion...
just to get away with a photo that did not exist when you started into your day should be the goal
this and nothing else

i am sure the canon forums are full of complaints about the new 24-70 and how ridiculous the arrest switch for the
zoom that only works at 24 mm, is...
the filter size
the prize

i got it on my 1dx.
i hated it when i first got it.
produces awesome photos

case closed

all the wishlists of whatever might have been awesome about something and where it should be
miss just one point

seriously
what was the first camera you took a shot with you were proud of

i am sure there was a lot of complaing going on back then..now was it.

make the best of what you get
quit your bitching, go take photos

..
or hunt for rainbows and ponies.

i am srsly disgusted by what i read here..
its a disgrace to photography

i help alot on these forums
like the dude that asked about the greyed out menu of the inteval shooting mode.
you didnt know it..the postings where shit
and here are all the experts and knowit alls.
dafuq

it makes me wanna puke.

  12.
the thing i hate about photography the most and it seems not to change is that everyone knows everything but no one does.

talk is cheap

    Crop of same shot

as far as the contest goes i think this is the best photo sofar, well imho. it provides a uinque perspective compared to most other entries. what makes it a great photograph in terms of contest-conditions regarding the eye, it also shows what this particular eye sees and therefor gives a sense of place and activly implement seeing, what an eye does if working, into the photo. very well done
  18.
summer...hmm..i am not too fond of the temperature as i am quite heat sensitive.
this guy is not

nikon d3, 24-70
linked from my facebook page

enjoy the heat

  19.
there is a lot of different possibilites to why interval shooting wont work.
most likley it is because your time settings in the camera are way off.
this happens if the internal memory gets f-ed up, no power for too long is a classic.
sometimes it then shows some weird date, like 2004, 2007, 2010, something.
in that case:

go to the wrench thingy
select time zone
set time and zone correctly

should work now.

if it doesnt, reset the camera shooting menu, reset time zone.
reconfigure time zone
reconfigure camera settings

should work now

if it doesn't, use it as a door nob :)
or maybe check the battery first, might be too low on power
if the error reoccurs in a short period of time, get a new battery for the internal memory.
with big cameras like the d3 or d4 this battery is located inside the battery slot.
should be similar with your model, i dont know for sure though.

hope this helped

  20.
"what are you photographing"
"the concert"
"we would need a photo for our weddinginvitations, how about we go to the toilet and take a shot"
"alright, i insist on getting one of those"
"how much do you charge"
"a beer and a scotch"

done and done.
they did actually use it

nikon d3, 16-35

  21.
had a similar problem at a job once where i was assiting to the photographer.
turned out to be the red plastic that was just scratched in a way that the su4 mode
would only work in a certain position.
but that one was badly scratched.

so i am guessing you maybe want to have this checked out and replaced.
worked for my collegue

  22.
there you go..seventy years old and not complaining about weight.
the next time someone complains about the higher weight of the bigger bodies i am going to
qoute you :)

  23.
600mm
when i was 19 i got this owl photography workshop as a present, ever since i want one.
dreams remain dreams, but it is good to have some.

until then i watch them from afar whenever i get the chance. people in vienna are really unaware to their presence
and sometimes i hear people guessing that the bird that just passed by in this ridicilous smooth sail must be some
sort of huge pidgeon :)))

  24.
a d3 used in good shape should be about as much as a new d610.
there is a lot of ppl out there wanting you to pay 2k euros for a d3 witth 170k shutter count...do not buy.

unless there is no explicit reason why you would need a d3, i would suggest the d610.

regarding this dynamic range.

i recently got invited to test a phaseone.
i ofc chose the xf and a
how come dxo d7200 has a bigger dynamic range as a phase one sensor.
seriously...somone hack and take down this dxo mark site..it is a pain in the ass

  25.
it is not a matter of if it is just a matter of when i will be able to afford one.
and if i do..boy...i am so gonna buy one :D
until then..yeah..well..i wait
