    Exit Glacier 1

          11

I have been to Exit many times and always enjoyed it. I know I took pics but I have no idea what happened to them. I remember there being a lot of skeeters during the summer. Nice pics. Seward always was my favorite town.

Have you been to Colgate Glacier? You have to take a day trip out of Seward on one of the boats and they take you to Colgate and let you see whales and puffins and all that stuff up there.

Here is a lousy scale photo of Colgate:

Oh yea, in refrence to Exit Glacier calving. An elderly couple were trying to take a pic of each other against the glacier. When the husband went to take the pic it calved. I don't think there were many signs then. If I remember correctly there was also a failed lawsuit.

I like this photo and the colors except for one thing and that is IMO the DOF. The edge of the "hat" on the forehead being very blurry is a bit disturbing and the nose being very out of focus bothers me even more. The eyes and colors however are wonderful.

The lighting wraps around so well that it doesn't show much depth. I would think with her being SO....ready to deliver... that you would want it to be more 3 dimensional, requiring more shadows. I do however like the composition. You also might want to add a frame.

The only thing that I think would help would be to show the hands rather than cutting them off, but thats just an opinion of an amateur. Oh and the lighting is a little harsh. I do however like it.
  1. If I was there for that sunset I would have wanted to take that pic but I never would have thought to include the leg, which truely makes the photo. I would have made it plain but now it is an awesome photo. 7/7

This looks like the Chugach Mountain Range, am I right? Oh and good photo too.

Hmm just looked it up and it happens to be a few hours away, go figure.
