Ok, since you took the time to write that long intro, I'll tell you why I rated it 5/2. First, the left wing is cut off. Second, there is no interesting pattern to the blur except for maybe the upper part of the left wing. I like the rest of your portfolio, though.

Maybe lightening the midtones might help this one. I think too much is lost. Also the darkness on the right could be cropped. It doesn't add to the overall feeling.

I'm not doubting the importance of the object. My point is that the photograph wouldn't speak to me even if I could read it. It is simply a photo of a stone tablet. How about something to give it context?

I agree. The off center frame helps give the sense of space and freedom for the subject to fly (so to speak).

Great subject and nice lighting. I would like to see some of her eyes. Maybe not directly but something to let me know she wasn't sleeping.

Almost great. But on my monitor, it looks a bit dark. With all that green around it should have been easy to capture more of it.

I know how difficult this shot is but I don't think the glare from the widow is interesting enough to help it.
