I have just received Mark III last night, did some test shoots today.

After about 50 shuttters, I had error problems.

First it was ERR-02, [Card not formatted. Format card with this camera]

I have problems reformatting my San Disk II CF card. I tried shooting again

with Lexar and I had the same error appearing and unable to reformat the card.

The CF cards worked perfectly fine in 30D.

I swithced the camera off, removed the cards, removed the battery, did a reset

but I still have the same ERR-02. I wonder why?

Without CF card, I tried to shoot again but this time I had ERR-01

[Communications betwwen the camera and lens is faulty. Clean the lens contacts]

I was using 24-70mm L 2.8, cleaned the contacts, reset the camera but the

error was still there. Fustrated, I tried attaching 20mm 2.8 and 50mm 1.4, but　

I still have the same error appearing!

I will bring the camera to Canon tomorrow.

Was wondering if any people out there have the same problems that I am facing?

I am in great dilema. After months of waiting for Mark III, I was　looking

forward to use it for tomorrow's shoot,I have to send it back to Canon!

I do portraits and street photography, nearly 70% of my pictures are from this lens. It is a great lens and I can't imagine what it will be like without it.

I use in on full frame and 30D as well. You will never regret getting this lens!

The official release here in Japan is not know yet at the moment. It was said that it will be released end of May and rumors said that it might be on 25th May. In Japan, Canon usually release their new models on a Friday.

It will be hard to get one on the day it is released because a lot of people are on the waiting list. I am one of them!

Price wise, it is about 498,000 yen.

I was wonderin if Canon will be introducing any new DSLR this year.

Canon usually introduces new model in spring and autumn and was wondering if

there will be any this autumn.

I will be making posters size 51.5cmx72.8cm (20'x30') from EOS30D.

I was wondering if 8.2 megapixel will make a good print this size?

Also how huge/big can I enlarge from a 8.2 megapixel file?

A very close friend of mine, passed away yesterday and I would like

to print a photo of him to be used in the funeral.

The problem is I need to print 10 x 12 size but the pictures I have

are small, 1024 x 1536 (size about 600KB).

I use photoshop elements 2. Please advice how do I print a good

resolution 10 x 12 pic from a file size stated above.

The only thing that I can do for the decease is to print a decent

photo for his funeral.

I often use this lense wide open at f2.8 on EOS1V and I have the {thin} filter all the time because I cant afford to have vignetted pictures.

It will be on the safe side to have a {thin} filter just in case although I have used {thick} filters and there wasnt any problems.

I notice that my 10D has a red dot in every picture at the same

position. I was wondering if it is a dead pixel or just dust.

From my understanding, dust appears as black dot. I wonder what this

red dot is.

If it is a dead pixel what can i do with it?

i have just received this beautiful but bulky 70-200L IS today and

this is my first IS lense. guess i will be doing weight lifting from

today with this heavy lense.

i was wondering of you guys keep the IS on all the time when you

shoot hand held?

what is the limit of the slowest shutter that you had experienced

hand held with the IS 1 mode on? on the short and long side of the

lense.

i will be going to a press conference tomorrow and i was wondering

if i should keep the IS 1 mode on while shooting. i usually shoot at

manual mode and the shutter speed will be at either 1/160 or 1/200.

i dont really like the shattering noise/ movement with the IS on so

i was thinking that i might turn IS off when i shoot at 1/200. guess

i need to get used to this....

please advice.

I am a digital user and my client wants me to take some shots for a

magazine and they will make some posters out of the photos taken.

I have not been using slide for a long time and I was wondering if I

should use RDP or Astia for this work. It will be a photo shoot of

hair make-up so I don't think bringing out the natural colour is a

problem.

I would like to know which film has a better latitude, RDP or Astia.

Also what is the difference between RDP and RDP III.

Also what is the real speed of RDP, RDP III, Astia. Normally how do

you rate these films?

Sorry for the simple questions, I have not been shooting slides for

a long long time. I will use digital as a backup and as polaroid for

the test shoots.

I had used 10D for about a year now and I have lost count how many

times I had hit the shutter.

I had shutter trouble yesterday after shooting about 2000 shots. The

shutter doesn't fire and even when I set it on bulb mode, I can't

see the shutter firing and there is no movent at all. I guess the

shutter is dead.

I need to send it for repair and I would like to know how much does

it cost. Do you guys have the same problem before?

Also what is the normal life span of a shutter box?

I need a tele lense and was wondering if i should get the 70-200L

F2.8 IS or the 200 f2.8 L. I don't want weight so I was thinking of

the 200L but on the other hand I sometimes do press conference work

and I want the 70-200.

Do you guys find 70-200L heavy to carry? Which will you get and

which is worth investing?

I am using EOS10D with EF24-70 L and I find that focusing is

somewhat slow than my other prime lenses; 50 f1.4, 100 2.8 macro,

etc.

I am very annoyed and very fustrated with the slow focusing. I have

bought this lens brand new and I was wondering if I have got

the 'bad batch'?

How you you guys feel about the focusing of this lens? Do you find

it a bit slow compared to primes? I do understand that the amount of

light availabe affects the focusing speed but I have used 24-70 L

and other primes at the same situation and I find it slower. Very

disappointed!

I will be shooting some E100VS for the very first time in the

Maldives. I have never use this film before and I was wondering what

are the characteristic for this film.

How do I bring out the best of this film? How forgiving is this

film? Latitude, etc.

I have taken some photos with the wrong white balance setting. Could

someone kindly guide me how do I correct the colours? Also if

someone could show me what it will lok like after colour correction.

I have the same question as you, either getting a 20D or get some lenses. I only use primes but I intend to skip 20D this time and save the money to get 24-70L. I will be getting this lense this weekend and looking forward to it.

My recomendations is to get some good lense like 20 2.8 or 85 1.8. They are beautiful!

Well, I am keeping my fingers crossed that the shutter still works until I upgrade to a new model like 30D or something like that.

20D is very tempting but I am skipping it.

Which 24-70 L are you using?

I heard that there is a made in Japan version and a made in United

States version and maybe Taiwan as well.

I am a prime user, I have never owned a zoom lense. Now I am

thinking fo buying EF70-200mm F2.8L IS USM and I was wondering how

would you guys judge this lense? Is a good investment?

I own 20mm f2.8, 28mm f2.8, 50mm f1.4, 85mm f1.8, 100mm f2.8 macro.

Would like to get a tele lense. Was considering 200mm f.28L, light

weight, small to carry but on the other hand, zoom lense is also

very tempting.

(1)Please tell me in what situation do you use this 70-200, how
