I was visiting a train museum in Snoqualmie, Washington. The engines
and cars had all been carefully restored. But a short distance away,
on a spur track hidden in overgrowth, sat this train. It took a bit
of hacking through the underbrush to get to it. It was slowly being
eaten by the vegetation, and it reminded me of pictures of the Titanic
being consumed by rust. I was moved by its plight, as it sat decaying
just a short distance from the other trains that had been restored.

These horses (mother and daughter) were posing by a fence in Ogden
Valley, Utah, as the sun came up. Their manes attracted me, and I
stopped for a photograph.

A wonderful image! Marvelous use of dodging and burning to achieve the light effects. I'd like to hang this on my wall. Rick

Very original. At first, I didn't know what I was looking at. This is the sort of image that I would like to hang on my wall. It is beautiful.

This was taken in Devils Garden -- Arches National Park, Utah. A
storm was moving in, and the sun was setting. Arches is just an
amazing place to visit.

This fisherman was focusing on his fishing, and the sky around him.
I thought the sky was breathtaking, and tried to capture both it and
the fisherman together. This is my try. Rick

I like it a lot. There is a very significant 3D effect generated. The motion of the people in the background, against the stillness of the standing man....very creative.
-
Absolutely spectacular capture. The motion of the water and the sky makes you feel like you are 'flying' into this image.

Marvelous use of highlights and shadows. Her face emerging from the darkness. The texture and color of her skin add immeasurably to the mystique. This is a really haunting and creative image.

Every once in a while a photo comes along that is really different, and from which we can all learn. This is one of them. I love it. Thanks for sharing. Rick

As I mentioned in an earlier photo post, we visited Neuschwanstein
Castle on a cloudy stormy day. I was hoping for some blue sky and
sunshine, but found a much more interesting castle in the clouds.
Your comments and critiques are always appreciated. Rick

We visited Neuschwanstein Castle on a stormy day. When we left for
the visit, I was hoping for some sunshine to help with the
photography. Instead, we saw the castle in a beautiful storm, and
it added substantially to the surreal quality of the castle and its
surroundings.

Very beautiful image. I would suggest using a darken/lighten center filter just a little so that the outside tonality is a bit darker, and the inside a bit lighter. Otherwise....lovely.

What an amazing image! I saw an earlier version of this image....but this is absolutely stunning. The coloring of the image, use of shadows, downturned eyes, and beautiful hands. You have perfected the lighting so that my eyes are drawn immediately to her face. This is one of my favorites. Rick

Wayne...this is another magical image. I think I know where this was shot, but I have never seen it looking like this. Absolutely beautiful. Rick

This is an early morning photo taken in Hallstadt, Austria. This
little city sits on a ledge cut out of a mountain along a beautiful
glacial lake. It was a mystical spot. As always, your comments and
criticisms are most welcome.

Beautiful shot Wayne! The colors are wonderful. We do live in a beautiful area. Rick

This photograph was taken inside the caboose.
