I'm not so sure I like the placement of the person's head. And of course it is essential that the eyes are sharp (which they are). The B&W conversion is a good choice and I'd say this is overall a great capture. Well done.

Hmm, tough shot to critique but here I go: Subject is good as is the placement of the man with the umbrella. Focus is a little soft but that is fine - it actually adds to the mood of the shot. The red umbrella yields the 'pop' that I like to see. The sails are perhaps cropped a little too close to the edge of the frame but the edges bounces the viewers eye back to the man. The is also dead space above; yet I don't see how you can get away with cropping there. Bottom line is that it's a great capture. Well done!

Sometimes you get lucky, very lucky. I photographed this bald eagle
on a logging road from a blind - my truck of all things. He was
sitting in the forest looking for a bite to eat in the creek below.
And the light happened to be just right. It made all those other
hours of waiting worth it.

I like your choice of crop on this. It makes the shot even more dramatic. Well done.

Just for the record, I DO NOT want to see the movies!!! But welcome to the world of digital - you'll love it. What DSLR are you getting? PMA is around the corner so might be worth waiting a few weeks or so.

Great capture and great title. The snow just adds that last bit of 'pop' to the capture.

Captures the moment perfectly. It's not often we see a chess 'action' shot. Well done!

GREAT catch. Nice mood, nice light.

Great shot Justin. I'm sure you would have done Galen Rowell proud with this. It looks like he took his famous shot a couple of meters further to the right back in 1985. It's interesting to note the hight of the tree in his shot compared to yours.

Good job on maintaining the details in the shadows. Truly a terrific capture.
