It's not often we get snow around here. But when we do, I love

getting out photographing wildlife. This time the snow came at the

same time as the eagles. Lucky me. :-)

100% wild owl. No bait or calls (or anything else) used to encourage

the owl to fly in my direction. Just a back country road, a good

buddy, sweet light and an amazing wild great gray.

  1. Sean, this is outstanding, simply outstanding.

A previous commenter was wondering if this was photoshopped - let me assure you, it is not.  I've witnessed the behaviour many times.  The SEO makes the kill and will try to hide it (or consume it right away).  Often the harriers will catch on and will try to steal the kill.  Most of the time, they're successful.

Getting a shot like this is not easy.  Getting and keeping both birds in focus is a big challenge.  So hats off to you for this shot, Sean.  Well done!

A nice shot, Dave. The exposure is tough.  The subject is a little too bright here.  As well I'd crop a bit off the left side so the bird isn't so centered.

    All the best,

    Thanks for the comments everyone.

Per, I agree with your comment about the watermark.  Unfortunately it has become necessary.  Too many of my images have been lifted and the copyright removed (when I've placed it at the border of the image).  So hence the new location - which makes it a little more difficult to remove.  Hope you understand.

A great image to be sure, Amelia.  I'd leave a bit more room in front of the cheetah so that the head isn't quite so close to the edge of the frame.  Having said that, this is still a fine image - certainly one you can be very proud of.

    Well done.

Another shot captured from a raft on one of the rivers in Squamish,

BC, Canada. This young baldie paid no attention to me - which is the

way I prefer to photograph wildlife. Thanks for having a look.

During the month of December, bald eagles congregate in Squamish,

British Columbia to take advantage of the salmon run. Here a juvenile

eagle consumes the remains on a salmon.

This bison calf is less than an hour old. The mother is encouraging

the calf to stand up - the survival of the young calf is very much

    dependent on it's mobility.
