1. Thanks to everyone for the replies. They are most informative and useful. I guess in short, I can use the Metz on the F3HP without problems. I do have other Nikon Speedlights but I was intrigued by the claim that Metz has better colors and effects. I think I will shoot a roll of film to see if I see any differences.
  2. On line sources say that the Metz 32CT3 has triggering voltage of 22v but I measure it to be 12.9v. Wonder if it is safe to use on my F3HP. Don't want to fry any electronics in the camera. Anyone has experience with this combination? I was told the Metz has better effect and color than the Nikon SB16 which has lower triggering voltage.
  3. Thanks Mike: You may be right about "tired beeper". But I need to know if it is an issue so that I could consider sending it in for repair. Unfortunately this is not a lens normally stocked by the local camera stores and I could not go there for a look. I do find the feature useful in AF memory setting.

So if there is any owners of the lens on the forum, I appreciate he/she could check its focus memory setting and drop me a reply.

    Thanks a million.

  4. Had this lens for a few years but didn't use it much. Just noticed that the 'beep' sound from setting/recalling AF memory on this lens is quite weak, barely audible. Wondering if this is normal.

The beep is very audible if I remove the drop-in 52mm filter, but again the filter is supposed to be in all the time. The lens has a switch to turn off the beep so I wonder if it should be stronger and something is wrong.

Any one has the same experience? Any information greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  5. Yes, I have used Sover Wong's service recently. I must say his service and repair work is excellent. My F2AS came back in top notch condition. I highly recommended his service if you have an F2 need fixing. He serviced my jammed F2 and DP12. I understand that he is getting very busy now and expected wait time is 7 or more weeks. Check his website for the long list of satisfied customers.

  6.
I have been using Spyder3pro with Windows 10 and I need to calibrate my monitors to gamma 2.0 and 5500K.
Spyder3pro gives only 5000 or 5800 or 6500 K. So I selected 5800K, being closest to 5500K. It seems to give overly red colour. I have searched for previous posts and updated my drivers as suggested, but the color still doesn't look right.
I was wondering if Spyder5pro would have the 5500K option and runs better on Windows 10.
Or should I get i1 Display Pro by Xrite. Is this better than Spyder5pro?
Any information greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance. Raymond.

  7.
Thanks Bill for the reply. I will certainly try your method. I have the V600 for a few years now, nothing I tried came even close to your results. I have got the ANG insert for the Epson carrier. Maybe I will try the Better Scanning. I will retire in a few months. More time definitely helps.
I am in Canada. Are you sure being in Hawaii has nothing to do with scanning results? LOL.

  8.
Just noticed that prints I made from inkjet (commercial printer) turned slightly yellow after about 1 year. Is this normal?
Also, I use Photoshop to change color photos to B&W through channel mixing. The resulting images sometimes give me an impression of a slight color cast. Some prints would look slightly blueish and some slightly reddish. Not a problem by itself, but obvious when prints are placed side by side. This creates problem when a set of prints are presented together. Is there something I need to adjust for?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
TIA.

  9.
Congratulations Dan on the new 300mm! Nice lens!
I am tempted to upgrade from my 300 AFS F4 just for the lighter weight and VR.
Is that the Klipsch Legacy III speaker and the Jolida FX10 integrated amp you photographed there?
Nice combination!
