Notoriously, the cormorants eat a lot of fishes..
This poor animal, was trapped by a fish on the hook of a fisherman.
Then it broke the fishing line and flew on a tree, but during the
many attempts to free itself, the rest of the fishing line trapped
him to the tree, where it is hung up now without life.

Dear Francesco, the idea is absolutely funny, and your vivid immagination (as an Italian, but more as a Toscano..) deserve a 7.
The composition, with the roll in the right lower corner and the strip of paper towards the upper left is simply correct, and gives a natural prospective to the scene.
You know, I'm not fan of digital, and I cannot like some corrections (like the orange cast)...
But I was "forced" to vote and comment this brillant idea.
Bello spirito !

Even if not perfectly bubble-levelled (it's hand-helded), the
Distagon shows his appreciated low distortion, despite his 180°
coverage. More, his "natural" fall-off of the corners, can help to
saturate the sky.

The ruins (no windows, no floor and no roof...)of the great Abbey of
San Galgano and the Eremo of Montesiepi (where Saint Galgano was
buried), with Its precious Sword in the Cliff, is one of most
evocative places in Tuscany. The construction of the great Abbey
started around 1220 A.C.and it was finished around 1268, when it was
officially consecrated from the Bishop of Volterra Alberto Solari.
Then, followed one hundred years of great splendor until 1364 to
which it followed the slow forfeiture.

While I can agree regarding a better burning of the sky (maybe "painfully obvious" but necessary), I can't follow your suggestion regarding the buildings, they are just too white.
In Liguria the most of the house are lightly colored with many nuances. The red filter I've used, do the job enhancing the contrast between the houses and trees. More, will be innatural.
Sorry, but I sincerly think the way the scanner works "really flattened out the image" as you said (and as always happens with low-cost low-D scanner) . The original print is effectively more "dimensional.

A correct observation.
Well, I have a shift lens in my 645 equipment and so, I obviously try with that before. The problem is that the photo was possible only from the balcony, and even with 11mm of shift I was not able to correct the prospective. (and I started to have problems of vignetting...)
So, I decided to use the 45mm (non shift)which is indeed, more corrected again distortion.
...but I'm just planning to return there with the Sinar...

Yes, the Vixen did a good job and it was unnecesary to guide it during the 151 sec of exposure. The trick is to place it correctly oriented the best you can before to shot.
