I was out all afternoon yesterday trying to capture the streams out here after the rain. I got nowhere and came home really p****d off - then I log on and see this which has only made matters worse! Nice shot.

Would love to see this with the perspective corrected

It's an intriguing image but I would say does need some work to bring out its full potential. I've just been struggling with a very similar image of rock and water and came to the conclusion that the only answer is to get it right out in the field in the first place (basic lesson number 1 suppose...!)

Beautiful colour and composition. I have to agree with the comments about horizon and sharpness in foreground though.

You're right about the snow - I deliberately exposed it to be completely white. I may have a go at getting some more detail out in the RAW conversion and seeing the effect that that has.

Thanks for the comments people. Now I need to think of a new take on this for next years race!

This is a shot of a partially collapsed dry stone wall set into a bank and covered in
melted snow. I have used photoshop to clean up a little of the background. Many
thanks for any comments.

Every year the hill outside our house is host to the shortest, steepest bike race in the
UK. It's frightening how fast these guys go up there! This year I was working on this
blurred effect and got a couple of shots I was happy with. Your comments are most
welcome.

It looks like there's no way that guy's going to reach the water! Would maybe have benefited from much tighter framing around the diver.

A real shame about the boat in the background

Alisha - this is an art installation at the Tate Modern art gallery in London. It's supposed to simulate a misty sunset and has had huge acclaim. It's also generated some great photographs!

Love it. Composition works perfectly for me.

Beautiful image - having followed the thread I have to admit that the original version of this made me think twice, but your stunning portfolio sets the record very straight.

I really like the colour and framing. The only distraction is the random figures in the background. It would have been good to have found a way to use them to enhance your composition (although I suppose that might be difficult in a public place!)

After 9 months of living with a 'proper' camera I'm starting to get the technique at
least under control, and have just switched over to RAW processing. Now I feel I'm
finally ready for some feedback on the actual images! Any comments would be very
welcome.
Thanks in advance - Mike
