As always - thanks for your comments.

Surely that's in Salford Quays nr Manchester?! It's a view that's often caught my eye (Have a look at the Salford Quays shots in my folio if you get the time).
Have you thought about correcting the perpective? I did a very quick pass in photoshop...

I really like this - the collection of colours and shapes is pleasing to the eye.

I have to smile at the idea that D. Burgess "feared the presence" of a shot of "a baby harp
seal, all white and cute"... : ).

Canon 17-40 and a sandy lens hood! Thanks for your views.

Your comments are appreciated. I'll be sure to colour code Jim's outfits to the scenery next time!

One of the best shots I've seen of this much photographed place (and a lot better than I've ever managed!)

Nice! I find myself wishing the symettry was spot on though - have you thought about trimming?

My friend Jim, avoiding looking left or right on the crest of this mountain ridge in
Snowdonia.

Thanks Andrea. I wavered over removing the shadow but decided to leave it in... For some reason it appealed to me more that way!

Under a shack, on a beach in Wales. Thanks for your thoughts.

Thanks Augustine. I must try to count them! It's good to get positive feedback when you're pleased with a picture, especially one that gets such wildly varied ratings...

There are buildings going up all over the city at the moment. Here's one still in progress...
Thanks for your thoughts.

Well, I'm certainly not going to claim to be a better photographer than Daniel Libeskind is an architect!! Thanks anyway for your thoughts.

A fair question! Your edit does make "the point" more directly than my version, but I'm reluctant to lose the detail of the lighting and balconies opposite that attracted me to the scene in the first place. Given more time I can see the opportunity to frame this more forcefully. Maybe next time!
High on the hills

I disturbed this family of deer midway through a long, high walk in North West Scotland.
They froze just long enough for me to switch from wide angle to telephoto lens and start
shooting. In the distance I could hear occasional shots of another kind as the summer deer
cull was underway on the neighbouring mountain...
