Try Katsumido Camera near Ginza ...
-
If they're targeting at sometime in mid 2006 then they should announce the product at PMA just around the corner in Feb ... I can live with a 1.33x cropping factor as rumoured - a 21 still covers a FOV of 28, which is good enough to me. But I agree, that could be a good excuse for both camps ... LOL
-
That's a great shot, Trevor ... how did you convert it into B/W?
-
Hi, Max ... I have the Japanese book about the Zeiss Ikon, I just scanned the viewfinder illustration for you - the 28mm frameline will be rather hard to see - at least that's the case on paper!
-
Cool ... this is gonna be the ONLY reason why I'm not getting the DMR. I hope it does provide a PURE B/W mode.
-
I believe it is the DMC-LX1 or very similar ... same 8MP, same 4x zoom, etc.
-
Gee, how many ZI cameras were there in the cabinet and Zeiss says on their web site they'll only be available in August??? !
-
Both 1Ds2 and D2X produce nasty (even worse) fringing like that under various conditions. What lens did you use for the shot in question, Peter? My 80-200 Vario-Elmar produces fringing on a 1Ds2 as well, though very slightly ... on the other hand, I believe the new version of Flexcolor shipped with the DMR can deal with that. Didn't Leica say that the delay was due to software problems?
-
Remember that Imacon is no slouch in raw conversion either, Jan ...
-
Absolutely fantastic, Peter ... I'm in!
-
All CMOS pictures looked dumb and flat, CCD shots always looks much vivid and better saturated. Reason why Canon and Nikon go for CMOS instead of CCD is because that CMOS is easier and cheaper to fabricate. Well, neither easy nor cheap means good!!!

Color Foto in Germany has tested almost every major DSLRs and lenses in the market. With the Zuiko digital lenses coupled to the E-300, the overall test scores beat all other combinations in the same ( and even higher) class.

It's extremely funny to hear someone claiming about the "value" of Chinese currency - everyone knows that Japan and China are the two biggest creditors to the United States, I figure if the rate of Chinese Yuan against USD goes up to 1:1, then all in a sudden US owes China almost nothing!

Sorry, but this is rather like robbing a bank!

Super fantastic collection, Matt ... you should post more!
-
I just saw this new lens on B&H's website but Leica doesn't mention
anything on their own site ... does anybody know anything about it?
<a

Keep in mind that the Zeiss lens appears to be a lot bigger than the Summicron and I'm not sure if it comes with a hood.

The hood is sold as optional at 7500 Yen apiece in Japan.

Here's a complete review of the Biogon 35 against all the current 35s, you don't have to read Japanese, the full size samples tell you everything. :)
-
Curiously, I just found both Adorama and B&H have delisted the
DMR ... so does anyone have updated info on it? thanks.
-
There's no MTF chart for the CV lenses on their site ... only the "Zeiss" lenses. I'd be curious to see some if anyone could point me where ...

held a D2X
in Nikon
he pulled one out from under the table-if you like the D2H, you will like the D2X

Hmmm ... not sure if that's a good sign 'cause a lot people disliked the D2H. LOL
-
They will make another 500-600 copies this time and the new ones will
be available by the end of the month ... Japanese "limited
production". LOL
-
It's pretty funny because you have to manual focus anyways, so how could a 10D or 1Ds make any difference? LOL
-
I agree, Arthur ... the photo was just an example to show what I was talking about color and contrast, in fact ... I've tried the 200VR against the 70-200VR side by side on a F6, perhaps the primer is way too sharp at the center, so you can see it's noticeably soft around the edges across the 35mm full frame, OTOH the sharpness is pretty even across the 35mm full frame with the zoomer ... depends on what you're looking at, f/2.8 is enough for what I'm doing, and I don't see what the primer can but the zoomer can not stopping down even further ... of course, I will never say this on a Nikon forum, folks there already have enough difficulties defending their choice ... ROFL
-
I wasn't able to shoot the 200VR head to head against the 180APO because I don't have the Leica at that time ... but here's a 1:1 crop from a 200VR shot at f/2 nothing touched straight from the D2H - I shoot with all lenses hood on always, I have many similar shots with Leica, Canon or Nikon and have drawn my own conclusion, but I'd still be curiuos to hear about your thoughts. :)

Well... will I get a Digital M-series for Christmas, 2006?
