Agree it works. Actually it's horrible. Side note: notice how the black straps of her dress are not vertical - adding the impression that her neck and body are somehow twisted.
-
And finally visible spectrum. See note in the tech details - this is about 7 stops LESS exposure than needed with the IR filter, and the IR could STILL have done with more.
-
This is the red channel from the visible spectrum, not level fixed but toned in the same way

This is the shot straight from the camera:

For the first time I find myself giving two 7+7 scores to the same photograpgher. I like this maringally better than the other, but both are excellent.

It renders really badly as a thumbnail, but I'm really glad I looked at it full size. It's pretty clear that a lot of effort went into this, and it paid off. You've got a great picture here.
Someone mentioned Rembrandt - it makes me think of Arcimboldo paintings, although it's not really the same thing.

It's a nice picture ruined by the copyright notice. The eye is drawn to that and not to the subject matter. and it's the work of a moment to remove it if someone wants to steal the picture.
Would be better with the boat cropped out on the right - or with more of it, the little bit seems accidental somehow.

For me this is an excellent photo. The look on his face and of the guy chasing him (in blue) makes the picture as much as anything. The framing and depth of focus are pretty near perfect. The ball looks huge against him as well.

Saw the thumbnail and it's less than great, but full size ... To say much more than "Majestic creature, nicely captured" would be nit picking.

Great wit. Not sure what's happened to the sky though.

Paul: I went and had a look at both Mike's pictures and some of his comments. And I thought I was world weary, it's cheered me up. I wish I knew what he thought was pointles. Part of me says that dividing the picture up like this is just unnecessary, it would have fine left alone. The other part says, yes, but then it would be ordinary so why not make one part of the subject into a frame for the rest ? It's late here and I can't decide, but the first part is winning.

Of the three pictures of her you have put up for critique, this comes off best because she looks relaxed, the more formal ones make her look tense.

PINK ASSASSIN an entry for a themed community assignment, where everyone did a photo in this style

Kind of hard to believe in her as an assasin. The glasses give a sort of insect look.
Since you like song lyrics, this makes me think of:
Skip the road block, here she comes;
Get a load of the pretty blue guns.
Any slick trick under the sun,
She'll do it if it isn't done.
She made arrangements but she couldn't come.
She dresses like a secretary, lives like a nun.
Your crime is her radiant passion,
It's time for the new assassin.
Google "John cooper clarke" "New assassin" for the whole thing. I must try to look at some more of your stuff when I have time.
