Unlike Ken I do like blue toning. (Evidence in my portfolio). Nice shape, nice lighting blue toning suits it.
-
The first thought is "Surely the body doesn't bend like that". The simple treatment suits the subject. I'd suggest that you work more with this model.
-
I like the light and texture. Not sure about the dark band at the bottom - I think this is where the floor meets the back wall.
And the hands ! The distortion looks like a wide angle lens at work but might be post processing - given the title I wonder if you're trying to evoke the branches of a tree. I find them alien and disturbing.
-
Benjamin, it might be easiest to explain this with PS, but if you pull the picture into Photoshop (or paintshop pro or ...) and push the gamma way up, you'll see that it is just very careful exposure and using a light above and slightly behind the model with her shoulders casting a shadow.
I'd say it was both good and original.

I think this is the best of the 3 you have just posted - it's the nicest composition - followed, by "M4". Both could be used in advertising. M2 doesn't work quite as well, but all three are sexy but subtle. Nice work.

The most original picture of the body I've seen for a long time. It has a nice abstract quality to it.
It's very rare a picture deserves a 7 for originality (we give 7/7s to say "excellent") but this one does.
I'm still not quite sure how it is done.

Jason, it's a visual joke. Looking at the scores most people don't get it. Sad but hey.
Jorge. You could try quite a few variations on this. I quite like the Idea of a picture which appears to be pinned to the wall because it is a picture of the pin(s) but this doesn't quite do it.

Wayne, I can only give a biased opinion. The Camera is the most expensive thing I've ever bought that could be carried away; and it was money well spent. I like the character of its images, and the ergonomics are superb (I'm very keen on hyper-program / hyper-manual so I don't feel the need to get a DS).
If you have Pentax lenses, being able to use them is a huge plus. The ground glass screen isn't really meant for manual focus lenses, and exposure setting with non-A lenses requires a button press. Still this was taken with a non-A manual focus lens ...

Testing the Zenitar - not much wrong with the detail

Stephen: you've put up three pictures of the same person. I suspect this is the one her friends and family would like, but the smile has pulled her face into a less flattering shape than the others.
As a picture of a stanger I find the full length one of her sitting down more intersting; but I doubt it would find space on a family wall.
The other head and shoulders shot with the dark background is probably the best compromise.

It's takes a moment to understand what you're looking at here... But it's worth it. Unsual, dramatic and good. I don't normally like these frame effects, but it seems to work well here.

Reminds me of the B顴rice Dalle picture for Betty Blue (37.2 le matin).... Like this better than the one you just put up for critique.
-
It could be an advertisment for the underwear. Composition isn't quite right for an advert, but if you wrote the brand name down the left edge of the picture it would work - especially if the type face fitted in with the grafiti

I like the rib details too. There's a nice simplicity to the shape and it's good to have some texture. It does add interest as the others have said.

I didn't get to scatter the petals I was up a ladder :-) As I recall, Rhowena sat down with large handful of petals and as she lay down, she dropped them onto herself.

A picture which I long since thought was here, but turns out not to
have been ...
-
A section cropped from Joceline and Adrian #1 If anyone would like to
say why they prefer one or the other that would be good :-)
-
This was taken a couple of frames before this one and given a mono treatment.
I like the way only Joceline's eyes are showing - almost like she's using Adrian for shelter or comfort ...
comments please ... go on, you know you want to say something.

The light and colour on the body makes me think of a painting - I think it's by Tamara de Lempicka, but I can't find it.

If this is your first then you should feel very encouraged to do more. The mood of the shot is lovely - it says to me that the model is relaxed with the photographer.
You can do endless variations with the shirt more or less open. [Later... Ok you've posted a couple. Can you see how much more relaxed she looks in this picture than the one where she is looking into the camera ? The back is a good pose but it needs a change to the lighting to show up some detail better. This one, for me is definitely the best of the three shirt ones]
Yes, the lighting is a little flat, but this sort of gentle nude doesn't need contrast that whacks you between the eyes. In any event, if you have a good eye, you can learn lighting a lot more easily than trying to develop an eye when you know about lights.

I said I'd post another take on

which didn't emphasise the fingers so much... took me longerthan planned. Comments welcome !

A trawl through my portfolio will show this cloth has had outings
with several models over the last year and a half. I often use it
early in a nude shoot with a model who is new to because it takes the
edge off the nudity until so we (I) can relax a bit. Any thoughts ?
