I quite like the glow of pre-aspherical Summilux. I can't say quite the same about the ease of aperture adjustment on this beautifully small lens.

 5.
Leica lenses are incredible. BUT they also work the best on Leicas. That's my conclusion after trying to use a 50 mm Summicron M on a Fujifilm X-Pro 1 with a generic Leica M mount lens adapter. Granted, X-Pro 1 is a quirky camera, but still very good. I found manual focusing with Leica lenses to be a bit tricky (they work really well with rangefinders - it's a bit tricky with mirrorless non-rangefinder cameras). Perhaps it takes time to get used to it. In the end I still liked the result and the feel the lens created. Due to crop factor the 50 mm 'cron turned into a really nice portrait lens on X-Pro 1.

 6.
Brad, I really, really like your shot. I love the soft and somewhat spooky feel of that picture. Can you please tell me what gear you used for it?
Barry, w/nw is pretty much the only reason I am visiting this Leica forum, so here is my entry as well (MP, 50 mm 'cron, Neopan 400).

 7.
I agree with Dieter's statement, that Leica has not produced an interchangeable lens M mount camera that is not rangefinder. I am not awfully impressed with Q. Granted, it has some really nice features but if it only were an interchangeable lens M mount camera it could be really, really nice.

 10.
Some shots from a coffee shop called Blue Bottle in downtown San Francisco. The coffee was really good but the place is somewhat over-hyped (Leica MP, 50 mm Summicron f/2, Fujifilm Neopan 400).
<a title="Blue Bottle by Srebreni Halid, on Flickr" href=" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8689/16833408123_9756f635cd_z.jpg" alt="Blue Bottle" width="640" height="424" />
Barista preparing a "syphon." 13.
Thanks all for your responses. I don't have a Monochrome and I don't intent to buy one. I was just curious. Bye.

 14.
Since it's a B&W camera only, does one need to use filters (yellow, red, blue, etc.) that are usually used for B&W film photography? Or do you apply filters during post-processing, for example in Photo Shop (I'm not sure about hte later, since the camera records no colors).
I'm just curious. Thanks.

 15.
A week ago Comic-con was held in Minneapolis. By accident I came across these two characters dressed in someone's favorite super-hero costumes.
Superman and Batman below him (Leica MP, 50mm Summicron f/2, Fujifilm Neopan 400)
<a title="Superman by Srebreni Halid, on Flickr" href=" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8710/17142361617_09b12e3d9e_z.jpg" alt="Superman" width="424" height="640" />

<a title="Batman by Srebreni Halid, on Flickr" href=" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8755/17347899802_2cbb89a71f_z.jpg" alt="Batman" width="640" height="424" />

 16.
Allen,
Fujifilm x-Pro 1 is a nice camera for the money, especially now that the prices are reasonable. It's plagued by some bugs that have been worked out to some extent with various firmware updates. One has to be patient with it and the results can be very nice.
Enjoy it.

 20.
Enzo Ferrari once said that there would always be enough crazy people to buy his cars. The same goes for these silly Leica special editions. Nothing against Lenny, but why "correspondent?"

 21.
Etienne,
Both X100S and Zeiss Ikon are great cameras. I also have X100S and I agree with your description of calling it a "social" camera. However, I do like the fact that it's digital. Even though I like rangefinders, I've never been quite impressed with Leica M digital offerings. They still feel like something is amiss. Fujifilm managed to fill that void with their X series (at least for now). Clever design and marketing, not to mention retro looks and high responsiveness to customer needs resulted in some really, really nice cameras. The X series is not rangefinder but they are great little cameras nonetheless.
Once digital Ms shrink in size to their film predecessors I'll probably get one. I often use both X100S and my film Leica w/ 50 mm Summicron. I've never had a chance to get my hands on Zeiss Ikon but I always wanted one. I wish they were still made. It'd be nice if they were to introduce a Zeiss Ikon digital rangefinder to provide some competition to Leica.

 23.
Hello,
I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with CineStill films. Reportedly, these are films for motion pictures that are re-purposed for still photography. A long time ago, I've read somewhere, that motion picture film is generally lower quality than true photographic film; it's simply no good for still photography (I don't know if this is true). It appears that CineStill is designed to be developed by utilizing C41 process. Does anyone have any experience with these films? Good? Bad? What are your opinions about this type of film?
Thanks
