'I think when Bob says, "the 'pod", he means tripod, not the product called The Pod.'
Ha ha, thanks Nadine, I guess my mind went to the other Pod because I had just been looking at it earlier that day!
-
I also have the ThinkTank International (which is a rolling case), plus am considering the ShootSac (to carry lenses etc during a shoot, it was not designed to carry all your bodies too).

As an alternative to the 70-200 2.8, you could consider the Sigma 50-150 2.8 for $700.

Bob I was looking into the pod recently (http://www.thepod.ca/), though not necessarily for
weddings. I am surprised to hear that you can use that with a bracket- wow!

Thank you all for your responses. I don't use my tripod much but will be doing so for an
upcoming wedding.
I just realized that my new MC-30 Remote Cord will only work with my D200 and not my D70
(which was the camera that I was planning on putting on the tripod). There is a MC-DC1
Remote Cord that works with the Nikon D70s. Apparently if I use the D70 with the tripod I
will have to
manually push the shutter release button!

Hi, For those of you who utilize tripods, I am wondering if...
A) you always use a cable release cord or do some of you skip that and just
directly push the shutter button?
B) you ever use a flash bracket in combination with your tripod (perhaps when
shooting formals)?
Thank you, Lia

I have used and like instaproofs, but they are only an online viewing & ordering system, not a lab. You have to full-fill the orders yourself.
Based on my experience, I echo everything that Conrad said about Pictage, though some people have had success with them.
Collages has a nice interface and you can pay per event which is nice, though currently their lab services can only be utilized by PC users. I am a Mac user so have just used them for online viewing & ordering (then fullfilled any orders myself).
I have heard many good things about Digilabs but have not tried them yet.

Hi, I have the Epson stylus Photo R2400 printer. I typically use it to print Epson heavy wt. matte paper and
also Hahnemule fine art photo rag paper. Recently it stopped printing the Hahnemule paper (only). I
receive messages indicating that there is a communication error or the inappropriate paper size was
selected (even though I have the correct size selected). I am printing from a Mac in Adobe Illustrator.
Does anyone have any tips about how I can possibly get the tHahnemule paper to feed through the printer
so it will print (it is a thick paper)? I have tried several different things with no luck and am at a loss....
Thank you!

Hi Janus, I had checked into LiveBooks also. Nice sites (and the simplicity works very well
with your dramatic photos!), but pricier than the other three I think.
Thanks for your comments. Lisa

Thank you Kevin. Yes they do seem great to deal with. And yes I would love to see your new site when it is live!
Anyone else? What do you like & not like about your sites features? Is there anything about it that you feel limited by?
Thanks, Lisa

Hi, I have already searched & read past related posts but I am looking for more recent and specific
feedback on this topic. I would like to know about peoples personal experiences are with the following
web site companies; Creative Motion Design, Big Folio, BluDomain. What features of your site are you
most happy with (if you used one of these companies) and what do you wish could be different?
Thank you, Lisa

I can totally relate :)
It sure does slow down post-processing, so I am working on it. I think that it does get better with time!

Thank you to everyone who responded (though I am still not sure why scanning prices vary
so much)!
Isaac, I am going to consider using Pearson Imaging, thank you. I also saw some other posts
that recommend using digitalslides.net so will look into both.

Thanks Alan, but I would think doing 6o scans would take a really long time to do...? Therefore I am not looking to do this myself. The negatives appear to be in good condition.
Hi Larry, I am not clear on what information you were reffering me to, is it on the 'FAQ' page? I jsut saw info mainly on ftp and ICC profiles...
Thanks, Lisa

Hi, I need to have around 60 frames scanned so that I can make a 10x10 digital coffee table book.
Some local labs (in NYC) charge around $3 per frame/scan (and more for really huge files). I just did a
google search and there are some online services (scancafe.com, britepix.com, etc) that charge much less
(say around 50 cents, depending on the DPI).
I am leary about using one of the cheaper online services... but want some facts to back up why I should
fork out the extra dough for a local pro lab to do the scans. Any insight on what I should be aware of
when choosing a lab or service to scan my negs would be appreciated.
Also, when you have negs scanned, do the digital files typically require some light photoshop work, such
as retouching dust marks?
Thanks, Lisa

Hi, I am wondering how much you charge to add an extra shooter to your package
and/or how you arrived at that price.
I am not necessarily asking how much you actually pay the second (or third)
shooter; I am more curious how you arrived at the amount that you charge the
client for the extra shooter. With an additional shooter present, you are most
likely supplying a higher number of images to the client so I assume that you
add on extra $ to account for the additional post processing workload and
additional material costs for proofing... am I missing anything?
Thank you! Lisa

I currently use the Sandisk 4GB extreme 3 cards ... http://www.adorama.com/ has really good prices on these right now (w/ rebate).
