Well done to the elves for choosing to showcase the panoramic format, and well done to Lei for a great street shot.

Just one point though. It isn't a panoramic crop, it is a panoramic composition. When someone comments on a 5*7 or 6*9 there is no comments on an interesting "crop". This is the format. So before anyone else takes away from the photographers compositional skills by stating that they have created an interesting crop in PS, please look at the equipment used first.

  1. I see that you have also been attacked by the ignorant Micha. At least he gave you a 1,2. He gave mine a 1,1 without leaving a comment at all. I explained that this was ignorant and very rude. I showed him how to critique a crap photo, and it wasn't too hard to find on in his huge portfolio of 3. They are all crap.

I agree that your photo would be much better with the black piece of tin out of the way, but lets face it, how many photographers have a nice lasndscape with a blackhawk in it. Now thats cool.

    My dog.

Micha, when you leave a rating of 1,1 and not leave a comment, you not only show your ignorance, but are also considered rude. Unlike my balloon shot, your shot of your dog truly is poor, and I'll try to be contstructive and tell you why.

    1) its out of focus. Severely out of focus. There is no excuse with modern cameras to have a shot this out of focus. If you meant to shoot it out of focus, this is also pointless.

    2) Composition is poor. You have chopped off half his head, there are distracting elements in all parts of the background.

3)Regarding originality, it;s a dog on a sofa. Not going to win any awards here.

So next time when you rate someone's photos, by all means give a rating you feel it deserves, but if you are going to show up your ignorance, please try and back it up.

This is a great shot, and I love that it tells so many stories. The only point that I holding me back saying ooohh, aaaahh is that there is not enough contrast between the sky and the water. If the water was darker to give a distinct horizon, I would really love it.

    One last point....she's history.
