  1. I remember some type of warning about using old flash units with newer

cameras. I want to use my Vivitar 285 with my Pentax Ist D. Do I need some

type of adapter or converter to avoid damaging the camera? Thanks as always.

  2. I have a NIkon F2A and a Nikon N80. I have several Nikkor manual focus lenses

as well as several Nikkor AF lenses. Does anybody have any recommendations for

a backup body that would allow use of both sets of lenses. I am thinking about

a 8008s or similar. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

  3. I finally bought an Ist D body and would like some opinions on good lenses.

Right now, I am using a Pentax A F4 35-70 zoom. Recommendations for either

manual or auto focus would helpful. Primes or zooms. Thanks.

  4. How do Tamron adaptall II mounts function on the Pentax Digital ist D? Some of

these zooms have an AE setting on the aperture ring. Would that lens function

like a pentax A series MF lens? As all always, thanks for any help.

  5. Thanks. Three set screws to loosen first. These are not that obvious until the center post is extended. Then loosen to the left. Worked like a charm.
  6. I have a Bogen 3021 tripod with 108 ball head. I just got a 3047 pan head and

want to install it. How do I do that and remove the existing head. The Bogen

website was not much help. Thanks!!

  7. I have a pretty good collection of Pentax screwmount lens and would like to

buy a digital body to use them with. What I see is that a used Pentax Ist D

from sellers with established reputations is about same as new Pentax K100D.

    What would you recommend? Thanks.

  8. If I had an opportunity to buy a used Fuji S1 (in good operating

condition) at a price that 150 to 200 hundred dollars less than say

a new Nikon D50 body, would it make sense to do so? With the rapid

introduction of new digital bodies, does it make any sense to go

with any previous generation camera? Appreciate your opinions.

    Thanks.

  9. Thanks for the suggestions. Right now, I am thinking that the Olympus C-5060 might be a good choice for me. I'd appreciate any experience or opinions about that particular camera or some alternatives to look at. What I like about it are the reasonably wide angle capabilities, the manual options, and the size (its not too tiny). It's not anything special for low light, but that is not unusual for cameras in this category. Thanks again.
  10. I am looking for a compact digital camera for travel use and walking

around street photography. Zoom range not that important - something

around 35 to 105 (35mm equivalent) would be ideal. Camera does not

have to be shirt pocket size but small enough to slip into small bag

or jacket pocket. Decent low light capability would also be very

helpful. Preferred price point is about $400. Previously, I just

used my Yashica T4 with 800 or 400 film. Any recommendations

    appreciated. Thanks.
