    Lily (II)

The focus and detail on this shot is stunning, and I like the angle that the lily is photographed from. The only thing I would change would be to increase the contrast a small amount, so as to make the flower seem slightly whiter-- although, I do not know the original color of the flower. Well done!

The lush green which envelopes the photo is lovely. However, the amount of greenery in the foreground is overpowering-- especially since the focus should be on the bird, according to your title, and which part of the photo is crisp. It's a tough shot, especially since moving the grass out of the way would most likely cause the heron to be scared away!
  1. This is beautiful. I stumbled upon your work while I was procrastinating-- I often scroll down the "who's online now" list and randomly click on names, finding nothing but mundane shots. Your portfolio definately stood out! Nice work (all of it, but this photo is exceptionally framed and shot)!

    Barn Door.

I wanted to shoot this at an angle, so it's not quite so much of

a "this is a door, dead-center, head-on" shot. Is the angle ok? What

about the position of the door in the shot? Anything else that I

    should fix or try different?

    Comments appreciated.

  2. Ian:

I like what you did with it! I'm not sure whether I like your version or mine better-- the cropping you did balances out the positive/negative balance a little, but mine carries more weight for me because I'm biased towards my own work :)

  3. This shot really caught my eyes. I think the pink top contrasting with the greenish tint in the windows is very pleasing aesthetically speaking, but works only because this is a very good portrait. Nicely done!

Interesting angle. Personally, I would try to either leave more of that beautiful blue sky in the image, or leave it out completely. All in all, well done.
