This is a brilliant idea and the execution is equally outstanding. Everything is perfect down to the backgroud which looks like the score of music to whch they are dancing. I find this image very inspiring on many levels. This is what Photoshop was made for!

Interesting idea. I've played with this concept before (the wrong fruit for the skin), but never really have been happy with the results. this is better than what I ever came up with. I think this may be stronger if the banana peel were peeling back rather than simply cut off. It would give you more of the "unexpected surprise" feeling to the photo. Interesting idea.

Thoughtful critiques always welcomed. Thank you for you time.

Thanks for the thoughts. Maybe, but I don't think so. The colors were very bland. This was from my first roll through my new camera. Just breaking in the machinery.

Hey Peter, thanks for stopping by. Funny thing is that while the satanic thing never crossed my mind when I took the shot, it is actually a cell door at the Eastern State Penitentiary. Maybe the satanic thing wasn't so far off.

Thoughtful critiques appreciated.

I like this too. There certainly is mood in the photo. I also like the high contrast and the loss of detail in her face. It also helps wash away some of the unimportant details in the rest of the photo.

Ha.. somehow I missed Dominique's link... I was surprised no one had pointed it out yet... duh...

Ohh... to be fair I should at least offer a critique on the image as well:
Theme fit is great. In general I don't like images with modern cars that become too much a part of the scene, but you did a nice job of bluring these out to an extent that they are less bothersome. They do also help define time and place, but they still just are not my favorite. I don't mind the graffiti, and especially like the orange streaks. They add a real sense of sadness highlighting time and suggesting likely lost "Hope".

So... are we back to the starting point?
Yup... I'm still a casual PT observer.
Glad to see it's still going strong with lots of fantastic images!!!

See I was guessing a store front mannequin. The beads are really great.

I definitely agree that this is better than girl with gun. Mostly because it is more intimidating. The intimidation is not just that it is a male figure with a more rough and tumble look. More specifically it is the gun angle. With this one at least you get the sense that a fired bullet may strike you (or at least nick your ear). With the girl, you get the feeling that she can fire away, and only your assistant who is handling your lighting is in jeopardy (since I doubt you have one, it won't be much of a loss). I enjoy this kind of "playing with wide angle" shot. I need to play with mine more.
Thanks for stopping by my new uploads. I've been very busy. My work schedule is crazy this time of year, and even when the work load is lighter, family calls. Good to hear from you. Hope all is well.

Interesting choice of subject. She is very real looking... if not for the lack of body it would be expecially hard to tell. The colors, patterns, and textures are nice. I do wonder to what extent your interepretation is apparent in the photograph. Did you do the lighting or was it existant? The lighting is great!

The slide does have more detail in the light. Unfortunately, either my scanner, or my ability to use it tend to fail me at the extremes (light and dark). The lower lights were not intentional, and were unnoticed during exposure. Truthfully, I'm not entirely sold on the inclusion of the light. It was intentional though...

Thanks for stopping by. Of course I am familiar with your building work. I included the light intentionally. I thought it offered an additional dimmension. I had opportunities to eliminate it. Thanks again for your comments.
