steve foster 0 Posted September 21, 2005 A nice use of DOF and wide angle lens. Only a 4 for originality because I have seen similar images. A 6 for Aesthetics, not sure about the "urban" background and I find the size of his hand a bit off putting. Overall It's a good capture Link to comment
tom t 0 Posted September 21, 2005 Ths for the comment; I agree with the comment on originality; I just like to play with my wide lens :)See my Can of Olive folder for more original use of wide angle.Tom Link to comment
dexdee 0 Posted September 22, 2005 If I should choose between this or the "Girl with gun", I should pick this one. I think B&W works better than colorized one. Maybe it's the guys gangster style. Interesting shot. DDD Link to comment
wenger 0 Posted September 25, 2005 I definitely agree that this is better than girl with gun. Mostly because it is more intimidating. The intimidation is not just that it is a male figure with a more rough and tumble look. More specifically it is the gun angle. With this one at least you get the sense that a fired bullet may strike you (or at least nick your ear). With the girl, you get the feeling that she can fire away, and only your assistant who is handling your lighting is in jeopardy (since I doubt you have one, it won't be much of a loss). I enjoy this kind of "playing with wide angle" shot. I need to play with mine more. Thanks for stopping by my new uploads. I've been very busy. My work schedule is crazy this time of year, and even when the work load is lighter, family calls. Good to hear from you. Hope all is well. TW Link to comment
