    Lake Hennessey in Napa Valley

     

    I took the back way to work this day and loved the low fog. The two

    weekends before, I had been hiking all day in knee deep grass and had

    no ticks. About 1/2 hour after this shot back at the office, there was a

    tick crawling on my arm. I did not even walk thru grass here.

    I had not been out for a few days so thought I'd take a drive and came across this creek area. There were so many ants on all the trees and rocks I almost did not have a place to put down my camera bag. Mosquitoes were thick and big also, surprised none of them showed up in the photo.

    The sky this day was pretty dark and thick and I was wondering if there

    was going to be a break somewhere for interesting light. It finally

    happened.

    I've only been here this one time and from what I saw, this looks like it

    would be a difficult beach to photograph given it's raw and stark nature.

    The "boneyard" of dead trees was interesting.
